Ate here twice during my stay in Rome. Food is delicious, can recommend the pumpkin Gnocchi. That stuff is to die for. We had a lovely waiter who informed us about each dish and was very cheerful and food company. I hope more guests will...come following post lockdown so he can charm them too! They have a Parmesan ice cream which I highly recommend trying. It’s yum.More

We are a family of four: Two coeliac (gluten-free) - mum and son, and two non-coeliac (father and daughter). We searched for gluten free restaurants and found this one near our hotel. We visited twice. The first time we went we were greeted by an...enthusiastic waiter - nothing was too much trouble. The food was great, wine recommendation was good - he engaged with the children and we enjoyed our meal. So much so that we went a second night. What a difference! A different waiter - not particularly helpful - he got our wine order wrong for a start, and then the food: For some reason they only had one serving of fries available (they are hand cut? Did they run out of potatoes?) - and they were dark brown and coated with something different than the night before. They substituted some others for creamed potatoes. If you get the restaurant as it was when we first went I would have given it five stars. The second time - well if we had stayed in rome longer we wouldn't have gone back. If you do go - there was a 30% discount for booking through tripadvisor. We had to remind them but that's a pretty good dealMore

At the last minute, our party of six was searching for a restaurant with gluten-free options near our hotel. We stumbled upon this restaurant due to the menu posted outside, and it did not disappoint. Without a reservation, the staff seated us for dinner. Our...host was very personable and attentive. The gluten-free member of our party was pleased when most items on the menu could be made gluten-free. Everything from start to finish was most enjoyable. We highly recommend.More

And he did, we called in for a drink one evening and the Waiter, we later found out Ivano, said "come back and try the food", we went the very next evening, as we had been so impressed with the ambiance and service. We really...had the best meal and fabulous service, Ivano was rushed off his feet but everyone got the best service, he was on the ball for everything, his humour had us rolling with laughter, the food all home cooked and produced was amazing even the wine was home made and fabulous. Cant rate this restaurant and their wonderful waiter highly enough, if I ever go to Rome it will definitely be on my list to go back too. Just fabulous.More

This adorable place in the basement of the Hotel Barberini was hands down among the best meals I’ve ever had anywhere on earth. From start to finish Ivano took care of every thing - accommodating my gluten free needs from fresh baked bread to tiramisu...! Gluten free tiramisu!!!! I loved it all. They even make their wine in house which we bought a take away liter of for our room. We left after big hugs from our host, and really felt that fantastic food culture of Italy!More

As a family with two kids under 3, we are always shy of bringing them to the restaurant. This place made it confortable and easy, bringing a high chair, etc. Great service with a lovely waiter.

Had some great food in Rome but this was the best. We had a mixed starter(Antipasti?). Lots of lovely small dishes to share. It would make a great lunch for 2 or more people to share but we went on to indulge in a T...Bone steak between two whilst the others had a pasta dish followed by deserts. The house White Wine was delicious.More

The food was actually okay here, especially the saltimbocca. However, it took us 20 minutes to get a menu, we were there for about 45 minutes before we got water and the wine, unopened, plopped on the table. We kept making purposeful eye contact, she'd see...us then turn around and walk away. Very odd. One of the meals came after we had all finished ours and the odd thing was, it was one of the two plates of saltimbocca which had been ordered at the table. Out of a month of travel through Italy, this stood out as one of the two truly awful servers we experienced.More

We went here because it was somewhere that offered a selection of gluten free dishes. The sign at the top of the restaurant stated that it did, among other things, pizza and a board by the stairs leading down to it had an offer for...pizza and a drink. We ordered a bottle of sparkling water (which got a scowl from our waiter because we didn't order any wine). We were then handed the menus. I looked through and asked if they did pizzas. The waiter, an Englishman who had presumably been in Rome for a long time as he was totally bilingual, then hissed at me, "No sir, we are a classic Roman restaurant, we are not a pizzeria. We do classic Roman dishes!". I was so put out and confused at this point, thinking that I must have mistaken two neighbouring restaurants or something, that I didn't question it. But this rude man made me feel so uncomfortable. I ordered lasagne and after a long wait, I was presented with a tiny, pale, bland piece of lasagne. I could have eaten it twice. My partner had a fresh porcini mushroom pasta dish which the waiter recommended. Both dishes were gluten free. I then had to go over to a separate desk where they hand-wrote the bill, seemingly adding on 2 euros for something I couldn't decipher. It was underwhelming overpriced food and the terrible attitude of the waiter ruined the meal for me. Upon climbing the stairs, all of the signs were indeed for this restaurant, and other reviewers on here have mentioned having pizza, so I've no idea what the hell this man was going on about, Utterly confusing. A restaurant with ideas above its station, or trying to be something that it isn't? I don't know which it is, but I don't want to go back to find out. Avoid. The worst experience of my entire trip to Rome.More

Ending a long day walking the Tourist gems of Rome with the nearby Trevi Fountain we stumbled on this restaurant on another steep incline & decided to gamble on it. A Single waiter calmly busied himself amongst the smattering of clients with a cool elegance...& food appeared regularly & in our case a delightful Pizza washed down with glasses of Red wine. There was a relaxed atmosphere & enough patrons to give a warm atmosphere in its close small room. Nothing special but efficient relaxed & tasty. It’ll do!More
