In all honesty, when given the bill I asked the host to recheck because I thought I had been under charged! Huge meals and great value with a wide variety. Very friendly English speaking staff. The seating was a little cosy buy hey it's the middle of Rome so what can you do!

This place is amazing! Every year I've been to Rome I spend my evenings here. Usually sat outside. Watching the locals and tourists fight over seats as this place is that good. Pasta, pizza ... all delicious. The fresh berries are to die for. This place just keeps getting better and better every year I come back. 5*

Got there following a local's recommendation, wasn't expecting much. The service was efficient and the food was lovely. "La Francescana pasta" (home specialty) was absolutly great. Its a local tratorria, not a fanct restaurant - match your expectations in terms of service and style, and you're in for a treat.

After walking miles, this sidewalk cafe beckoned us as a place of rest! All 4 of us were delighted most by the House Specialty Pasta ( homemade fettuccine noodles, ham, mushrooms& peas in Alfredo sauce) and the House Specialty Salad ( with fresh Mozzarella, Roasted vegetables, artichoke hearts & green olives)!! We savored every bite!. Service by Lucio, ( who... More

Large portions and we both agreed some of the best pasta we have ever had. Suprisingly inexpensive. We sat outside at a small table on the sidewalk.

We decided to walk from the Borghese Gallery to St Peters. By the time we reached the reached the other side of the river we were hungry. We wanted something not too heavy and not too expensive. Thanks to Trip Advisor, we found this place. Great pizza, fantastic antipasto bar, inexpensive wine and a great waiter. We were very happy... More

La Francescana was a great surprise. It's very popular with locals (lots of big families gathering) but also seems to be very popular with non-locals. The food is fantastic and very well priced. My friends and I were in Rome for three nights and went to a place recommended by our hotel the first night and it was okay but... More

The food here at Francescana is excellent and very affordable. We stayed at a hotel close by and noticed a lot of locals eating there which means the food has to be good. We ended up eating here 3 more times. They always say if the restaurant has locals and they don't put pictures of their food on the menu... More

A late arrival in our B&B and our host recommended this place as one of her favorite in the neighborhood. We were not disappointed it was fully booked and we waited a bit to get a table. But it was worth to. Good start for our weekend in Rome with a spaghetti with fresh fughi. And a table rose fresh... More

Very good place . Nice service and delicious food and good price. Near to the piazza del tribunali. One meal cost around 7€~10€ . 40~50€ for two people.

Staying in Prati

Neighborhood Profile
Just steps away from the chaos of the center, Prati is the closest Rome gets to calm. Meticulously planned in a neat grid, quite unlike neighboring Borgo, Prati is a local favorite for its aesthetic organization and wide streets lined with a range of boutiques for every shopping fantasy. Nonnis pushing baby carriages and gossiping teens own every inch of the sidewalk, but that’s only during business hours. Once the sun sets, quirky sidestreet bars celebrate aperitivo hour, those evening cocktails that help wash away the tensions of Roman life.
