It's a small place, but oh! The food! The food is amazing. And the service too. They're like a little family (I don't know if they are family or not, but they work like one!) and they're very careful and attentive. But the food is gorgeous! It's a must in this neighbourhood!

Three of us came to Tavernaccia for dinner on our second night in Rome and had an exceptional meal. While a little off the beaten track (we walked but I recommend a cab), it was well worth the trip. We were greeted by very friendly staff and it only improved from there. We had bruschetta, a litre of the house... More

We found this restaurant in a guardian-guide, and as it was situated not far from the hotel we decided it was worth a visit. Firstly, the food was absolutely super. Excellent antipasti, primi, secondo and dolce. Secondly, the service was far better than what we have experienced in other restaurants around rome. The waiter was sweet and attentive and did... Fantastic good, friendly staff. A bit removed from the city center and the lights were very bright, but the food is amazing. Making a reservation is recommended.

We were on our honeymoon in Italy. This was the last restaurant we ate in, and we both agreed it was our favorite place in terms of food and service. Not many tourists stay in Trastavere, but if you do, this restaurant is a nice, classy choice.

We were looking for a local restaurant closer to where we were staying in Trastevere (every other night we'd walk more than 20-30 mins to go to restaurants in the trendy area of Trastevere). Luckily we found this gem on TripAdvisor. The food was the best we had in Rome and the staff was great. Our waitress was so nice... More

After one whole week in the Lazio region, no doubt that this clean and friendly place outclassed all restaurants with solid food that was simple and flavorful. That is how simple we can describe it. The chicken, lasagna and eggplant dishes were so gooood It seems to be really a family run operation Also don't forget to look at and eat... More

La Tavernaccia is a little out of the way but well worth a visit. Wonderfully welcoming and friendly staff that will do their utmost to ensure you have a great experience. The crowd was a mix of locals and a few tourists. Fantastic simple food. Their carbonara was the best we had in Rome but everything on the daily-changing menu... More

The food was simple, some of the things were good but really not worth going back. The wine they recommended was really awful, and when we said we didn't like it, the "sommelier" said that that was the taste of the grapes of the Elba region.....
