This restaurant was recommended to us by the owners of our B&B and two out of our five nights in Rome we eat here. Home cooked Italian food at a great price and with great family friendly service. Value you for money five stars, service five stars, food five stars... Everything you could need for a relaxing evening.

Sunday night after a day of sightseeing my husband selected Il Giardino as our dining selection for our evening meal. Il Giardino is very easy to find, located a few short blocks from our rental. This family owned business has the attention to detail required to make their ristorante stand out in a city of many superb offerings. We enjoyed... More

This place was very quiet for lunch, and the waiter seemed sometimes distracted by the game on TV. Since there were only 5 customers, I can't really blame him. There wasn't much atmosphere, but the buffet was good - seafood salad, smoked meats, fried rice balls, bread, eggplant in tomato sauce, but maybe 8 euros per plate was a bit... More

This restaurant is just around the corner from the place we stayed at. It is conveniently located in Gianicolense (just a tram or a bus away from Piazza Venezia). My husband and I ate here a few days in a row and could not get enough of the food. The owners and waiters were very charming and attentive and every... More

Off the beaten track from main-stream touristy Rome, this restaurant is a very nice place for a late dinner. The menu is extensive and in both Italian and English. The portions are huge and very flavorful. I've been here a few times, and the staff are all welcoming and helpful. They also do take-out, including their oven-baked pizzas! However, the... More

I've had wonderful meals here and not so wonderful ones as well; the antipasto buffet is often excellent and some of the pastas are as well; one night I had pasta e fagioli soup that was terrific; but I've also had zucchini lasagna that was really forgettable. The staff is very good and they care about food. A good choice... More

Ordering in Rome can be confusing. One never knows what portion size one will receive from one restaurant to the next. This restuarant provides substantial portion sizes so order carefully. Everything we had that evening we had was very tasty and homemade. Diners near us had soup and pizza and both looked to be extremely tasty. We were provided with... More

We stumbled upon this restaurant one Sunday. Almost everything was closed and we were looking for lunch. It was busy inside, so we went in. This is a family restaurant, and it looked like it was frequented by locals, which was very encouraging for me. I dislike tourist traps, so I look for where the locals go. Service was so... More

This restaurant was recommended by a friend and I am so thrilled we made it to this gem of a family-run restaurant in Rome just outside the typical tourist areas. Walking in, we were greeted very warmly even though I cannot speak more than 5 words in Italian. Many patrons there were obviously repeat customers / locals - I believe... More
