Bad experience in this restaurant, which was disappointing after reading the positive reviews. Ordered the house wine, but was given a much more expensive wine without our permission (and which we didn’t realize until the bill came out). Ordered two antipasti, but was charged for three. Waiter would periodically disappear. When waiter was available, he was rude and indifferent to... More

Turned up on a Sunday evening with no reservation, was seated and served fantastically and I don't think there are words to describe how good the food actually was. We tried both seafood and meat off the menu both were fresh, and cooked to perfection! The wine list was also great but goes without saying as Italians don't do bad... More

A friend recommended this restaurant and we are glad he did. It is not on the main road but we had no problem locating it using google map. We would recommend the grilled octopus as starter and seafood pasta. The ravioli in mascarpone sauce is good too. The raw red prawns is not on the menu as it is a... More

I read the reviews before going here and figured the service couldn't be that bad! Usually I am a really patient and good customer in the way that I don't complain a lot - I pick my arguments. We got to taste the wine as normally before serving and I thought the wine was OK. After a few minutes when... More

We had been recommended this restaurant and were so pleased to be able to get a table for our Friday evening meal. Friendly and efficient service, a truly authentic Italian restaurant busy and vibrant. We had bruschetta, carbonara and veal, house wine and coffees. About £130 for 4 of us.

We were a couple and came following a recommendation of a person (chef) we trust that claimed that this is the place he likes the most in Rome. So we had our expectations high - but guess what? we were not disappointed one bit. We were not that hungry so we took the antipasti sample for two - we got... More

This restaurant can be really excellent. We have visited on two occasions and neither disappointed. The sea bass cooked in salt is amongst the best dishes that I have tasted in Rome. I would also recommend the octopus, and the artichokes. The house wine was cheap and very good. Highly recommend.

We went for lunch ordered the mixed antipasti which were just ok. After which we had pasta with fish which was suggested by the server and this was a complete letdown. It had some kind of sauce which tasted more like chicken stock than fish.

Staying in Trastevere

Neighborhood Profile
Trastevere ("beyond the Tiber") is like a faded postcard, a little worn around the edges but still charming. With its wide-open piazzas, meandering streets, weathered Renaissance buildings, and overgrown personality, it's become an irresistible mecca for visitors. Trastevere is an enclave of entertainment - a rotating set of street performers entertains almost every night, and unforgettable eateries and bars pepper its piazzas and side streets. For a trip to the past, visit the southern and western flanks of Trastevere for pockets of yesteryear, less traversed areas with a residual 1960s and 70s Roman vibe.
