Needed to find a Sports Bar in Rome to watch the Olympic Women's Soccer semi finals. The Abbey fit the bill perfectly. Great location. Great selection of drinks/beers, food was average. They were great in tuning the TV to our game.

I went in on a Sunday night as I was walking back to my hostel. The beer was a reasonable price for Rome but I couldn't find anywhere to sit or stand.I ended up in the only corner I could find free but the atmosphere was great.Tv's and sports everywhere and great music.

On first glance it seems like a nice place. Always busy, good music and good mixture of sports on TV. A nice place for the locals and non-Irish tourists to get the whole Irish pub experience. BUT, if you're looking for a nice pint of Guinness, Carlsberg or cider then stay far away. The staff haven't a clue how to... More

Abbey Theatre was a great place to visit for a drink and a meal during Lunch or in the evening, the bar staff are very funny and friendly! Even after our first visit we were treated like we had been going to the Pub for years, the staff make you feel at home and we frequented the Pub throughout our... More

I didn't come to Rome for a sports bar, but.......we were in Rome for the opening of US College Football weekend - so of course hubby had to see some of the games! Just walking around the old town area where we stayed, we saw little sights of TVs or anything resembling a "sports bar" - we stopped by another... More

The waitress took our order quickly and was prompt with the drinks. Our starter came and 2 of the 3 mains (burgers)appeared shortly after we finished. The 3rd main (carbonara) came 5 minutes later and looked like it'd been sitting on the kitchen waiting to be brought to the table. It's a pub with a few tables, nice pub food... More

It was a nice change of pace to have neither water nor bread thrust upon us for a price. And there was no cover charge. The food was good - burger and fish & chips, so we weren't expecting much. Waitress was pleasant and was apologetic when both meals weren't ready at the same time. She even brought a bowl... More

This Pub is really good. It's pretty easy to find if you mark it on a map. The pub is big, toilets are clean. The food was really good and tasty. I liked the music, it was old fashioned and some of the real hits were played. It's loud enough to be heard but not too loud. The waitress was... More

Best of the bunch of the UK pubs in Rome. Good food, drink, friendly staff and a number of different TVs for watching sport, well worth a visit

Description
The pub takes its name from the world renowned Irish National Theatre, which was founded by William Butler Yeats and Lady Gregory.Stage props and costumes from the storerooms of the Abbey Theatre have been used in the decor, giving the pub a very special atmosphere. The six fully air conditioned rooms of the pub are spread over two floors, and a huge range of Irish whiskeys, cocktails and long drinks are on offer, as well as Irish beers on tap including, of course, the famous Guinness. The Abbey Theatre offers irish, italian and international cuisine all day everyday. We are able to show all major sports throughout the pub on 14 TV screens. ( NFL, Premiership, Serie A, Rugby World Cup...). The pub has a happy hour during the daytime, live irish music every week, and free Wi-Fi.The pub also offers private parties or weddings. Our welcoming pub, is considered one of the best in the city and it is laid out in typical Irish style with lots of little rooms linked by narrow corridors.
