Me and my boyfriend stopped at this pub for a quick pint between us admist our hectic schedule. We waited 10 minutes to be served despite there being only 1 other table in the establishment and when we were finally served by an older irish...'gentleman' (who I assume was the owner) he harshly quipped "too f***ing cheap to buy her a drink of her own" to my boyfriend. We were both left speechless and proceeded to quickly finish our drink and pay up with another member of staff. I complained about the owner's manner and the staff member profusely apologised saying that "he's always like this". The entire exchange left a bitter taste in my mouth and I hope you don't subject yourselves to this kind of behaviour by visiting this pub; good luck to the poor members of staff who have to deal with this horrible man on a daily basis.More

Was staying close to the Abbey Theatre and went for drinks one evening, was quite busy but we managed to get a table. Drinks were a good price, and there was a good atmosphere as well. Went back a couple of days later to watch...the F1, and once again a great atmosphere. All the staff are friendly too! Only marked as 4 stars instead of 5, because one of the group wasn’t super impressed with their food. But would still recommend (especially if you want to watch F1/football etc.)More

I've been able to visit the Abbey Theater Pub in Rome more than several times and not only was the staff great and extremely friendly but after trying something different on their menu each time I've realized that the cuisine, Irish, Italian or international, were...absolutely amazing! The prices were down to earth and the ambience was always perfect. Highly recommended if you're looking for an Irish pub in Rome with good food and drink, this is the place to be. Thx for the great hospitality Abbey!More

Stumbled on this bar as we were visiting nearby restaurant. So glad we did. Cost comfortable bar. Staff very friendly and helpful. Got a table at the window and watched the world go by on a very busy street. Definitely one to visit.

We where in Rome for the champions league final and as my husband and 2 boys are Liverpool football fans it was top in our holiday itinerary to find somewhere to watch the match. I looked Abbey theatre pub up on the internet and saw...that it had lots of screens. When arriving at the pub we were greeted by a wonderful waiter Called Dara who went above and beyond to make our experience at the Abbey Theatre pub one to remember. He found us a table in perfect view of the screen and made himself regularly available for us to order drinks from the table so we didn’t have to go and wait at the bar to be served on such a busy night. The food was delicious and served until late. I would highly recommend this pub to anyone wanting to watch football whilst in Rome including families with older children.More

Great irish pub atmosphere, cold beer and very good beer-suited dishes. Situated in a very crowded, central area, next to several of Rome's landmarks, on a narrow street. I recommend it especially for teens and football lovers (you can watch matches inside).

The friendliest place in Rome! Good wifi, cozy, and sure, not Italian food but if you want to find a salad or just something different from pizza and pasta, this is a good option. Vegetarian and vegan options too. And more importantly, they are pretty...friendly and accommodating which is a rarity in Italy.More

Superb Irish pub in Rome. Top quality service from Darian, Teresa and all the crew. Great rendition of a "stream of consciousness" from the travelling Joycean troubadours. Not always a fan of "Oi "Oirish" pubs when travelling abroad but this place definitely hits the spot....Peter NMore

The Abbey Theatre is a very authentic Irish pub with good food & beer. If you need a taste of home comforts during a hot day or after a long walk then this is the place. The decor, music & menu will make you feel...like you are home. The staff make the place special. Teresa is the perfect landlady & will make you feel welcome. The service is impeccable, especially Darien who goes out of his way to make your experience a memorable one. The bar staff will make you feel welcome & they will join the the craic & banter. There are several rooms to the pub so if it’s a quiet space you want, you’ll find it. Or you can sit in the main bar. It’s easy to find, basically between Castello Angelo & Piazza Navona.More

Location: pub located near Piazza Navona, in a central area of Rome. The restaurant is on two floors, not very spacious, but in full Irish style. There is often live music making the environment very folkloric. Menu: you are in an Irish pub so the...menu reflects the location. Burgers of all kinds, meat at will, topped with fries and much more. And the last but not the least wide choice of beers. Service: a feature of this pub is that none (or almost) of the waiters speak Italian. English only. So I recommend a mini review of the basic terms for ordering. For the rest of the staff available, waiting times not too long. Bill: average prices considering the location. Approximately $ 20 per person. A tip: if you don't like noise, avoid the days when there are games as the pub turns into a mini stadium curve. While if you are looking for a true Irish pub in Rome, this is without doubt among the best.More
