We found this place via TripAdvisor, & to be honest I expected it to be a lot better due to high ratings. The place was empty when we went, not too impressive on the decor, but decent. We ordered the saffron risotto & the cannelloni....More
They were busy on a Thursday evening in April. Service was slow and gruff. Food was very good, much larger portions than I could eat. Took forever to get our bill, and only then learned they don’t take credit cards.
We custom ordered both dishes for what we wanted and he said no problem. Amazing. I got marinara with spicy salami pizza, not on the menu, and my wife got a tomato base risotto with prawns, also not on the menu. Both were great.
This restaurant has great homestyle food. It’s fresh, full of flavor and something that reminds you of being with family. The staff is extremely friendly and generous. We are lucky enough to live in the area and go here often.
I am having to leave a review right now even though we have not left La Forchetta yet, as I wait on dessert. The bruschetta was so delicious and it was a great start to our experience in this off the beaten path cozy place....More
This was a little 'hole in the wall' not far from where we were staying, and accidentally found it..and it was fantastic.Superb food, great quantity, fantastic selection, helpful staff, reasonable prices, always full.only negative, they don't take plastic.

I doubt it - this restaurant probably specialises in gluten. To be honest it would be like asking a question in a fish and chip shop as to whether you could have a fat free and fish free takeaway. As for booking - the place is rammed and they are more likely to sit you next to someone you don't know (on same table). This is a locals type restaurant - real food , real people and booking or on-line booking in my view would be an unlikely option . Apologies if this sounds rude its mot meant to be but this is tiny back street restaurant in Rome (mountains of pasta and gluten ) where you may get a gluten free dish but I suspect you will be lucky if you do . Look up the Italian word for gluten as the owner doesn't speak too much English - good luck ! Its a great restaurant though .
