This place was recommended to us by our AirBnB host, whose other recommendations were spot on, but this one didn't turn out to be very good. The service was not good, even by Italian standards, and the food was just average. This was one of the most expensive meals our entire three weeks in Europe and was the most disappointing... More

Taverna Romana was recommended by our rental apartment owner, in the Monti district away from the touristy areas of the Colosseum. Small neighborhood restaurant. There was quite a wait, as we did not have reservations, and the Italians do enjoy a leisurely social meal. The oxtail stew was delicious, as well as the house wine and homemade desserts.

Small restaurant in the picturesque neighbourhood "Rione Monti", about a mile from Roma Termini and close to Colosseo. The ambiance and decor is what you expect from a small, traditional Roman restaurant. Very impolite and unfriendly owner. But the food is great. I had coratella, abbacchio scottadito and vegetables, all very good, with red "vino della casa" which was a... More

This restaurant is on a picturesque street in the Monti district. We went for lunch and had a fantastic meal. The food was fresh and well-prepared; the oxtail stew was to die for! Prices were reasonable and the service was great.

We were directed to this place by the front desk after another place is fully booked. We walk in at nearly 8pm luckily there's a seat just for my son and myself. I asked for penne but the waitress said they don't have and suggested another tubular pasta which I forgot the name. We had that with cabonara. I ordered... More

We were staying in the Monti neighborhood and came upon this restaurant walking back to our hotel. The cacio de pepper was very good as well as a red sauce pasta dish my son ordered ( forgot the name). The young waitress completely forgot to bring my daughter's lunch. The atmosphere is authentic Italy and the A/C unit which must... More

During the day it looked like like a nice restaurant but when I stepped in at 2.45pm Saturday I was told there closing. Ok I came back at night today (summer) the place was full and hot. Only one ACC door open, small table and a very strong lamp just above our heads. I asked the waitress to try with... More
