Recommended by a friend of mine in the states this food experience was fabulous. Prices are reasonable, wine selections excellent, service spectacular. Don’t miss anything on the menu but loved the pasta with clams and asparagus. Hidden in a beautiful alley of Roma don’t miss...More

This is a small restaurant close to the pantheon but slightly off the beaten track. You generally have to book a day or two in advance. This restaurant is used by locals and tourists alike - the better hotels seem to recommend it. We had...More

Gone are the days when they table is yours for the evening. This place will rush you in and out of here faster than you can say carbonara. We are not offended by :brusque" service that some may feel is rude. Even for us this...More

We’ve gotten used to mediocre diffident service here in Rome. Since they really don’t expect tips they don’t even feel obliged to ACT willing to serve. This place was different. Good food, good service and no wait even though we didn’t have reservations. The zucchini,...More

We only waited for 5 minutes to get a table and were very happy with the service. Excellent advice from the waiter for the wine. And the pasta with funghi porcini were excellent. A bit less impressed with the melanzane alla parmiggiana. But the place...More

Every meal we had in Rome was excellent, but our dinner at Osteria del Sostegno was the best. The finest and freshest ingredients were perfectly prepared with, I think, confidence and love of regional traditions. I thought I knew a little bit about good food...More

This is a popular restaurant because we were lucky to get in while a stream of others that came later were knocked back. Funny really - My pork looked like a few slices of thin breakfast ham put on a plate with a few potatoes...More

Excellent food. The carbonera and bruschetta were can't miss and make sure to get a bottle of the house red. We were lucky to walk-in on Sunday afternoon but you should make a reservation.

Our hotel recommended Osteria and I’m glad they did. It was our best meal of our eleven day tour of Italy. I had the chicken prepared in white wine and vinegar with potatoes. My wife had the Roma pasta. Their delicious food, comfortable atmosphere, and...More

Frantic fashionistas, pedicured politicos,
goal-oriented tourists, and on-the-go locals cross

I had a hard time accessing their online reservation, but calling them was very simple. They speak English and will have no problem understanding you.

Hi, Beth! 6:00 PM is awfully early for dinner, in Rome. As a matter of fact, Osteria del Sostegno's evening hours go from 7:30 PM—11:30 PM, Monday through Saturday, closed on Sundays. Good luck!
