FABULOUS!!! Aroma Food Tours recommended this restaurant to us after we took their Dolce Vita Food Tour in the Via Veneto area. Amazing food, salad, pasta, everything. Pretty sweet staff and a cute hole in the wall. Will definitely go back and highly recommend. Thanks!

Tucked away and intimate this lovely small Trattoria serves excellent food, with great service and value for money. If you are looking for fabulous food, simply prepared with high quality ingredients and care, at a place predominantly full of locals then look no further.

Excellent! We made reservations well ahead of our visit.. great place to eat... I had fresh pasta with tomatoes and mozzarella and it was so good.. my husband had beef with artichokes and loved it! Service was great .. we were in outdoor seating area...which is enclosed with heavy plastic drapes and had heaters .. very comfortable.. hidden gem ! Look for the trattoria sign at the corner of the alley!More

Thank you very much !!! Marco and my staff

We made a reservation each time we went. The waiting staff were extremely courteous, without being overpowering. Food was delicious: we had soup, ravioli, lasagne, chicken cacciatore, veal wrapped in ham, roast lamb, and all was tasty. In fact, I've made the traditional chicken cacciatore...with wine and vinegar, not tomatoes, since I've been home. Our bills, for 2/3 courses, wine and beer, were about 90€ for two, the three times we went there. Staff chatted and made us very welcome, with a little bruschetta (free) every time, and liqueurs on the house one evening.More

We have traveled to Italy at least a dozen times and can’t remember ever having a mediocre meal! (disclaimer: my grandparents were from Italy and I love pasta!) Arriving in Rome after 10 days in Egypt we couldn’t wait to go out to eat! (Our...cruise ship food was horrid) In fact, as were leaving the Cairo airport for Rome my husband started reciting everything he was craving to eat in Italy ! See pictures for details. (Was so starved for good food took a bite of our tomato bruschetta before I took a picture😂) Cannot go wrong here AND reasonable prices💰💰💰!More

There are so many wonderful restaurants in Rome, but this one stands near the top. It is not easy to find - near the Piazza della Rotonda (Pantheon) and at the end of a dark alley. Many restaurants in January don't require a reservation, but...you MUST have one here. The restaurant opens at 19:30, and fills up within 30 minutes. It is understandable once you experience the superb food and attentive service. We look forward to returning.More

9:30 reservation. On time and still standing outside in cold @ 10p (almost unheard of in Rome). If we ever get seated, will review food/service. Live around corner and was excited to dine here. Not so much now.

Fantastic food and wonderful people! We enjoyed lunch on our first full day and dinner on our last day. Both meals with excellent recommended wines from Puglia. Pasta with truffles, pasta with mushroom, pork, shrimp, dessert, grappa and espresso. All excellent.

I have been dining here for 24 years. I recently had a party of six for a birthday celebration. After the warm welcome, it seems like the service went downhill. Our courses arrived at different times, whcih was awkward. The guests at the next table...were throwing bits of bread into the air around the restaurant, which was rather juvenile, but the staff did not seem to take a hard line with this, even though bits were landing on other customers. I will be going back but if the service does not improve, I may have to alter my favourite haunt after almost a quarter century.More

Such bad, rushed service it’s hard to rate. New courses were brought out before we had finished plates we were eating, & literally taken away if we put our cutlery down. Pasta dishes of egg noodles with porcini mushrooms & the traditional cacie e Pepe...were well below standard of our other pasta meals in Rome, although the rolled veal with artichokes was great. So disappointing as our last meal in Rome.More

I had a hard time accessing their online reservation, but calling them was very simple. They speak English and will have no problem understanding you.

Hi, Beth! 6:00 PM is awfully early for dinner, in Rome. As a matter of fact, Osteria del Sostegno's evening hours go from 7:30 PM—11:30 PM, Monday through Saturday, closed on Sundays. Good luck!
