The food was awful, frozen and expensive. The waitress shouted to us. We couldn't pay with credit card and we were treated as a "stupid tourist". Please don't go there!

In spite of all the bad reviews I've seen here we actually had a pretty good experience! They found out it was our honeymoon and gave us free champagne and my husband an extra free glass of Chianti. We both ordered pasta (specify fresh pasta bc they do offer both kinds) and it was quite tasty. They did add an... More

After a tour in the Vatican, my husband and I decided to eat there. It seemed a little like a tourist trap, but we were hungry and we were in Italy, so we thought nothing would be reeeeally bad. Well, we were reeeeally wrong. It was the worst place we’ve been in Italy, the worst pasta I ever had -... More

Clamps and mussels were not fresh, salad was very poor for the price, and no credit cards are accepted. The environment surrounded the restaurant is too noisy. We tried this place as our tour stopped in the area and we had a short time for lunch.

When you are in Rome, you can search ages for the best place. Or just sit down at one and see what happens. this restaurant is one where we just couldn't care less and have a drink and some food. It's not THAT bad.

This cafe/restaurant is not worth the name. The service, the food and the place is just really poor. We were designated from our B&B to eat here. But we decided not to go here after 2 breakfasts/lunches. My advice is, don't go there.

Worst experience of eating outside in our trip in Europe. 1. We're charged 20% service fee without being told before. It was just written on the last page of menu in an unnoticeable manner. 2. Food quality is mediocre and chips are even burnt. Spaghetti is served in an ugly pan and the proportion is small. 3. What's worse, we... More

We visited Anni 70 on our first night in Rome as it wasn't too far from our hotel. It was pouring down with rain and alot of places had closed. Anni 70 were very welcoming and we were quickly seated and orders taken. The food was very nice and we had main course, dessert and drinks at a reasonable price.... More

Staying in Vatican / Borgo

Neighborhood Profile
Vatican / Borgo
Frocked priests, colorful Swiss Guards, insistent souvenir shop owners, flag-waving tour guides, and pilgrims from around the world. This is the Vatican and Borgo, Rome's most recognized neighborhood which acts as Vatican City's front yard. Aside from the souvenir boutiques and a few food spots, the only business conducted here is papal. In the daytime, the tiny medieval sector bustles with holy activity, as visitors vie for elbow room, or stand in line for a visit. Once the sun sets, the neighborhood is transformed into a quiet and picturesque hamlet.
