I used to go very often to this restaurant for many years and it is definitely one of my favorite seafood restaurants in the world . As soon as u walk in you can see all the fresh seafood exposed , the restaurant is also a good spot to meet very cool people . One of my favorite dishes is... More

Sat outside, The fish was fantastic. Our service was wonderful. After we did our best to order in Italian, the staff really took care of us. Great show, seeing all of the locals trying to impressive everyone else. I am glad we went and will go back when we are in Rome again.

Little hidden fish restaurant on Via Giulia, one of the most romantic streets of Rome. Ask to be seated outside on the patio and ask for some raw seafood, it's better the sashimi in good Japanese restaurant. The other amazing fish we tried was the lobster ala Catalana, amazing! It's true that the staff can be good or less attentive... More

The restaurant is a tale of two halves - clearly there are people who get the good tables (inside or immediately outside) and attentive services (local - local), but that wasn't our experience (frosty reception, stood around waiting without being offered anything, got the order wrong, etc). The food is actually good - especially the langoustine and clams. Worth a trip... More

This is a jet-set restaurant so the service can be arrogant if they recognize you are not a regular visitor but if you can ignore this and be patient, the excellent food will compensate. Excellent fresh fish. The lobster Catalan style was fantastic. Make reservations well in advance.

Asked two waiters for butter and never got it, my children asked for water and they never got it, asked for the bill twice and waited 10 minutes between each time. Ordered our food from the most unhelpful head waiter ordered wine that was served without the opportunity to taste, fish still had scales on its skin, so for €75.00... More

From the moment you walk into the restaurant, we were greeted very poorly (read rudely) by the hostess Francesca. This was our last night in Italy and we were looking forward to a nice romantic evening with good cuisine. Unfortunately, Francesca made it anything but that, as she made us feel unwelcome and treated the guests rudely. Even though we... More

It has the photos of the celebrity clientele. It has the crates of seafood as you walk in. It has you waiting even though you booked. It has you waiting for a drink menu or the water you ordered. It is all about impression rather than substance. The food was for us good seafood but we are used to eating... More

We travel all the time and are avid foodie. Rome is not known for it's molecular gastronomy but rather for it's traditional cuisine. At Assunta Madre you can enjoy just that, fresh and tasty seafood, creamy pasta and lot's of prosecco. It's nothing flashy just genuinely good (sea)food. The attitude of the servers could at times leave a lot to... More
