Lots of touristy restaurants in this area and not a whole lot of them are very special. We just popped in for some beer and a snack of prosciutto and mozzarella at the bar, and it was just fine. The staff was accommodating, even finding a place for me to charge my phone.

We made the mistake of wandering down this street to look at menus for dinner. Had we known what we know now we would have gone further away from the tourist areas. This place offered 10% off and free champagne. We were skeptical but were hungry too. They would rush through talking and taking orders. Weren't sure what we had... More

The Pizza at the place is nothing to write home about but an average pizza. I suggest that you dont let the waiter pick the wine for you as will get the most expensive bottle for you. Also the people outside to rope you in can be quite persuausive

It was raining so we sat down. Wouldn't usually go somewhere they are so pushy. We asked for 2 drinks and some bread. The guy then suggested bruschetta. A plate arrived with some bits on including mozzarella. Bill came. €4.50 for the bruschetta and €8 for the mozzarella we hadn't ordered. So ended up costing way more than the €2... More

In a word Terrible! We have been in Rome a week now and have experienced some excellent food, not here. The service was nice enough although way too over friendly and we now think due to the poor food. We were lured in by a guy in the street (employed by the restaurant), after a very tiring day walking round.... More

Good food and attentive service. Enjoyed our evening there. Yes you will get offered digestif drinks, coffee etc but then do you want waiters that ignore you?

we came across this restaurant whilst looking for one off the main areas of the Spanish Steps , away from the designer shops and expensive restaurants. As we walked along the waiter began waving frantically at us. when we approached to look at the menu he instantly offered us a free glass of champagne with our lunch- how could we... More

They do like to reel you in here but having said that, we had good food in a very friendly atmosphere. The service was a bit hit and miss, but the staff were nevertheless hugely entertaining and made the evening for us. We had some lovely fresh fish and very good pasta. We were a party of six and had... More

Friends of ours used this as a bit of a base. The waiters are very friendly and helpful. I drank FAR too much of their house red wine and dropped my mobile in the restaurant. Fortunately they found it and kept it for me. They are very very nice people here. They even gave me a plate of fries to... More

Staying in Colonna

Neighborhood Profile
Frantic fashionistas, pedicured politicos, goal-oriented tourists, and on-the-go locals cross paths every day in Colonna, a delightful chaos in the very center of the city. Even though it has some of the city’s loveliest sites—a 2nd century column, Belle Epoque shopping center, and a magnificent Baroque parliament building—Colonna is not just another pretty face, but the cosmopolitan eye of Rome’s cultural storm. Colonna can safely say it has the best of Rome: museums, boutiques, window displays, restaurants, cafes, and people watching.
