On a very hot day, just arrived in Rome, we accidentally passed this restaurant and decided to stay there for a drink. We didn‘t regret it!!! The waiter Davide was so amazingly friendly that we felt comfortable and good at once. We left this place...with a smile and good energy for the rest of the day. A great experience!!!More

We had a lovely family dinner, The dishes were very generous, they had a fantastic seafood pasta, very spicy arabiata pasta, very kids friendly.

We ordered starters and main dishesx, including an eggplant starter, vegetable tempura and pasta. Everything was outstanding, among the best of what we have tried in Rome. Great service as well.

+: nice outdoor seating area in a small square, reasonable price for pasta and pizza (10ish euros/dish). Ordered the Bruschetta Pomodoro, Gnocchetti, and Pesto. The bruschetta and gnocchetti were just okay, nothing memorable, but the portion sizes were big. -: DONT GET THE PESTO. This...is where the bad service comes in. My friend brought her concerns about the pesto because it did not only smell bad, it tasted awful. Pesto is a pretty hard dish to get wrong and somehow they managed to ruin it. We tried to explain that something about the dish made us believe that something had gone bad. After being personally offended, the waiter was nice enough to take back the dish had a new dish made without the cheese. Although we thought the cheese was the culprit it was not. The dish tasted as if the basil was replaced with grass or something (there were also no pine-nuts in it just an herb and olive oil?). My friend and I could not bring ourselves to eat it. My friend refused to pay for her dish and after the waiter began making a scene outside and said that no one has ever complained about their food. But based on the reviews I read after the fact, that’s not true. Nonetheless, a composed higher up apologized and allowed us to not pay for the dish. +: As we were walking away the waiter wanted to get the last word and shouted some good advise: to go to McDonald’s for food next time. -: I just wish he gave us that bit of advise before ordering the pesto 😔.More

The Serafini is a nice little restaurant located on a side street near the Piazza Novana. It was recommended by our tour guide and did not disappoint us. Despite being very busy we were speedily shown to our table. Service was quick and friendly. I...noticed that there were a lot of negative reviews on this restaurant regarding waiters being pushy regarding tips but we did not find this to be the case. We enjoyed our lunch and the prices although not cheap were not excessive. The only minor negative was the building across the street was being renovated so our lunchtime view was of dumper trucks and workmen going about their business.More

Our pizza was delicious! Staff was very nice and attentive but did expect a tip as others stated in their review. Great place for a convenient bite and to people watch.

This is probably the one restaurant I regret going to during our week long stay in Italy. In fact it made me start checking reviews before heading out to dinner. The food was not bad but anyone can make a risotto appealing with a chunk...of butter or tasty pasta with a fistful of pancetta, it was all ok but incredibly heavy. The terrible thing was the service: no service charge meant waiters publicly arguing over who would serve each table and speculating on which would leave better tips. Since Americans are used to always tipping they seemed to be the preferred choice and thus us not Americans could not even get our check without getting up and asking for it. We were, however, reminded of the fact that a tip was not included on the check, in case we had missed the loud discussions on the matter by waiters during our entire meal.More

We ate dinner here - our meals (ravioli and a truffle pasta) were ok, not as good as we had had elsewhere. There’s a reasonable amount of foot traffic along the street which makes for a good spot to people watch and many of the...outdoor tables are nicely separated when compared with other restaurants where tables are more concentrated. Service was ok but the two waiters seemed to be inadequate for the number of diners. This was the first place we experienced waiters pointedly saying that tips were not included in the bill. That was fine, as I had already decided that the food and service didn’t warrant a tip. I do not like this practice and would avoid this place for the reason that their forwardness with comments about tips will make some people feel uncomfortable on top of the fact that I’d rate the food as only “ok”.More

We found this place after seeing Piazza Navona. The staff were fantastic and quick. My wife got the gnocchi and it was delicious. This place is well situated a little bit away from the main tourist area of Piazza Navona.

The first time I went was a great experience. The young, handsome waiter was very nice and polite, and I thoroughly enjoyed the Parpardelle with porcini and salciccia, which I devoured and washed down with a nice chardonnay. So I decided right there that I...would come back to this place to have my last meal in Rome before I went back home to the Philippines. Well, an older waiter attended to me this time and TWICE told me that his tip was not yet included in the bill. I am a foreign tourist, not a STUPID foreign tourist, Signore - tips are not mandatory in your city and I will not be bullied by you. And with the kind of service you gave me, there was no way at all I would given even 1 cent. Too bad, this ruined my dining experience and my last meal in Rome.More
