The restaurant was just a cross our B&B. It looked wonderful with terrace covered by green leafs and tables on the street. We tried it twice and both times we were denied seating. First time because "it was too late" - 9.30 pm in Rome, and the second time on a weekday night because the six of us wanted just... More

The Ristorante Papagio offers fine italien food at a perfect quality. This comes together with warm hearted service which gives one the impression of a family dinner. We felt very welcome and perfectly treated which resulted in a very nice dinner. The wine recommendation was as good as the recommendation for the Grappa in the end. If I get the... More

I though this restaurant was very nice, the seafood was very good, fresh and a selection of available fish is displayed. The service was good, while It's is more expensive than others restaurants in the area its worth it.

We shared an appetizer and pasta which was wonderfully prepared. The waiters were proficient in English. They have their own lemon tree for lemonchello. We plan to go back for our last night in Rome!

Wow, the classics served with a friendly smile and flair! We had a romantic dinner and it was wonderful. The ingrediënts are superfresh and the wines sublime. Try the fish baked in salt crust, hmmm. You get a lot for your money here!

I was recommended here by the hotel where I stayed at with my partner, Hotel Celio which was just around the corner from the restaurant. As we'd arrived I found the atmosphere was very nice and service was exceptional. But they did not give us a heads up on the price of their seafood which we had that was about... More

You'll find excellent seafood prepared lovingly by a young chef and his wife who team up to offer an unforgettable dining experience. To start we had cod that was wrapped in thinly scalloped potatoes than sautéed. It was unique and delicious. All of the pastas were excellent. The menu definitely leans heavily towards fish and seafood. But there were a... More

We went here for supper on our first night in Rome at the recommendation of the desk at the Hotel Capo d'Africa. It was only a walk of two blocks. We were warmly greeted and seated promptly. We shared a nice dry red from Chianti. Our waiter, Alesandro was helpful and attentive. Instead of ignoring us and our bumbling lack... More

This was one of several good restaurants we ate in during a recent week's stay at the Hotel Capo d'Africa, southeast of the Colosseum. All of them had been recommended by the hotel, and Papagio was particularly recommended for its seafood. As starters we ordered a tuna tartare and a sea bass carpaccio, both excellent, and for main courses we... More
