First night in Rome. Found this place. Full of customers so gave it a try. Prices very reasonable considering everyone says Rome is expensive. Food ok. Nothing wow but big portions.

Really special experience! The food is indescribable! Ask for "buccatini all'amatriciana" and be happy. The price is excelent and there are so many options on the Menu. Besides, the place is confy and the waiters are fun and kind!

It was recommended us by local, so it means that it is not like typical touristic restaurant. Not walking distance from historic center. But pasta is unbelievable here. I would recommend that taste everything how much it possible :), Kindly staff. Typic italian pleasant.

I had the Bucatini Amatriciana Flambè and it was amazing. It's probably the best pasta I've ever eaten. The house wine was also lovely and very reasonably priced. i definitely recommend coming here. Make a reservation a few days before you plan on visiting here as it's very popular.

This has jumped into the spot of my new favourite restaurant. As a solo diner who does not speak any Italian, the waiters made my night (and my whole trip) by being wonderfully friendly, in particular Mario and Fabrizio (not sure if those names are correct!). The food was fantastic, I tried the bucatini all'amatriciana flambé. The pasta was cooked... More

1. Do book, or you are unlikely to get a table, this place is so popular with locals and visitors alike. Wide menu, but we opted for the bucatini pasta, for which they are famous , delicious [although the bacon was a llittle fatty for my taste]. The serving staff were so much fun it created a fantastic atmosphere. The carafe... More

Staying in Esquilino

Neighborhood Profile
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
