My wife and I just spent the first 3 days on our Italian honeymoon in rome. Very much on a budget. Last night we asked our hotel (diocleziano) for a restaurant recommendation and right away they suggested LA Lampada. Gnocchi has been ruined for me forever as what they served us was so far better than what I ever had.... More

Good recommendation from our B&B host. Food is great and prices are ok. Very attentive personal. Our lazanha was incredible good. Try to eat the plate of the day, is fast and delicious. Good option for wine too.

My daughter and I just had the most delicious lunch at La Lampada. Our waiter was Jacabo, and he was wonderful. My daughter ordered a soup that was out of season, and was a little disappointed that she couldn't have it. Surprise, surprise, Jacobo brought her a huge bowl, and seconds made especially for her. The look on her face... More

Our hotel recommended this place to us as good authentic Italian food for my husband's 30th birthday dinner. From the moment we stepped in we were unimpressed but thought we should give the food a chance. We ordered a pasta to share followed by a lamb and fish dish. The pasta was undercooked so was quite hard and the baby... More

Me and my friend were recommended to visit this place by the receptionist at Hotel Louisiana. She said it was family place and we thought she meant familiar, like cozy and hearty, but she actually meant her family (I guess) because we saw the other receptionist there later that night :) It was very cute and small, with a wonderful... After being cheated and eating tourist crap for 3 days, this place was a pleasure. Looks like old family owned place where they care about quality and value for the locals. About 4 blocks from back of American embassy

If you're looking for an authentic local restaurant in Rome then La Lampada is worth visiting. If you're not local the proprietor may come across as surly however it didn't stop us visiting for a second time in a few days. The second visit was much more relaxed and welcoming, just go with the flow, it's the locals restaurant after... More

Friend and I were recommended this trattoria by our hotel and we were so pleased that we visited. In fact, it was so good that we went there twice. Lovely home cooked food and very friendly staff. Would definitely recommend it.

Staying in Ludovisi / Via Veneto

Neighborhood Profile
Ludovisi / Via Veneto
Thanks to Fellini and La Dolce Vita, the Ludovisi and Via Veneto neighborhood earned its reputation as a posh area where gorgeous Marcellos wooed actresses and models while bored housewives hung out in streetside cafes. The cafes are still there, and so are the cocktails, but the neighborhood is now home to five-star businesses including hotels, banks, law firms, and embassies. The area is also right next to Villa Borghese, a beautiful park for sporting and cultural adventures. If you're looking for tranquility by night, this may be the place: Ludovisi and Veneto tend to shut down after 8pm.
