There were a lot of people waiting to get ice cream when we arrived, despite the fact that it was midnight! The ice cream was delicious, I personally loved the Cremito flavour (not sure I remember the name correctly). Also really cheap! 1 euro per generous cup of ice cream and you can get 2/3/4 cups. Ask them to cover it in white chocolate, it's amazing!

I kept seeing people walk around with a cup of gelato from here so we stopped by after dinner. They were kind enough to let us try a few samples and I decided on one of their famous cookie ones. It was a fair portion and tasted great!

Best gelato I have ever had in my life. The staff were friendly and the gelati was so well priced - with a small serve coming with two huge scoops and either whipped cream or chocolate on the top. The flavours were all delicious!

We came here a few times while staying in Rome. The gelato is amazing! The coffee gelato has a nice, strong coffee flavour, which is hard to find! €2.50 for 2 generous scoops, with free chocolate dippings. At night time the queue extends well down the street but you can avoid the crowds by going earlier in the day. However the queue doesn’t move too slow and there is a pleasant atmosphere on the street. Definitely worth a visit if you are in the area.

We found this wonderful place on our previous trip to Rome and we were so excited to come back. We were not disappointed, it was just as good as we remembered. The ice cream is fantastic and the staff are so friendly. We returned every day and the man would recognise us and greet us kindly. The signature flavour is delicious and my personal favourite was the yoghurt flavour. On an evening visit, there was no yoghurt flavour displayed and when I asked about it, the man got the final scoop from the back freezer for me. He went above and beyond. Such amazing service and fantastic flavours. The ice cream is dipped in a chocolate of your choice and this is such a great addition to a fabulous place. Can’t wait to return!

Let me tell you something..... if you do not go here during your excursion in Rome, there is no point in talking about your trip. Frigidarium is single handedly the best gelato/ice cream/dessert/guilty pleasure I have had in my humble 20 years of roaming this Earth. The Frigidarium flavored gelato is something that when you first taste you want to crumble into little pieces and absorb every molecule in this creamy sensation. That is all have a good night. You’re welcome.

This is a legendary ice cream. Depending on the time of day, you have to wait 10-20 minutes but if you choose the right flavors, it's really good. It's also good value for money as you get extra chocolate on top (or whipped cream to taste).

We tried a few different gelato joints in Rome but this one was by far the best. Unique is that you can have your ice cream tub or cone dipped in melted chocolate- which goes hard and is a lovely contrast to the soft serve. We visited 4 times in total- and recommend the florentina, cherry, biscotti and pistachio flavours. The servers were also very friendly and let us try lots of different flavours.

It’s a funny old world. There we were newly arrived in Rome, surrounded by living signs of ancient history that gave us so much today. Even Monty Python posed on what have the Romans ever done for us - all right, but apart from the sanitation, medicine, education, wine, public order, irrigation, roads, the fresh water system and public health, what have the Romans ever done for us? Brought peace? So luggage deposited our friends got a reply text from their daughter in Scotland essentially ya gotta get to this place as it’s the best ice cream ever and they coat the ice cream in choccy. Dutiful doting parents did as instructed. Enter google (I guess) and location found I think he said pinned, so off we went past the tomb of the unknown solider - Tomba del Milite Ignoto - past the statue of the goddess Roma, the Basilica Ulpia, Trajan’s Column, Basilica Papale di Santa Marie just to name a few for ice cream. Yeesh. So the ice cream was very good indeed and fairly priced but the servings weren’t over generous. There are no seats and you literally stand in a small space for service. I always have a cone never a tub. I mean a tub? I can’t eat a tub. A tub usually brings a plastic spoon and our planet could forgo more plastic. The chocolate coating was thin and slowed melting and was tasty. It wasn’t the best ice cream ever. But we did eat our weight in ice cream when we were in Rome. Now where did we put those ancient monuments?

We had about 3 or 4 or their ice creams over our week holiday. Gorgeous and smooth, beautiful flavours and excellent value. People were queuing here, and it’s worth waiting a few minutes. You can also get cream added or dipped in chocolate for no extra cost. Yum yum!!

There's a reason why there's always a line here and other places have no customers! The small size 2.50 Euro with 2 flavors (and free whipped cream or chocolate topping if you desire) is great for an after dinner passeggiata or the 3.50 Euro with 3 flavors was our dinner if we had a substantial Italian late lunch. Favorite flavors were Amarena (cherry) and Stracciatella (chocolate chip). Since the Frigitarium was close to our apartment near Piazza Navona we had gelato here many times during our Roman vacation.

Simply the best ice cream I’ve ever eaten. I opted for the Malaga & straciatella, both absolutely delicious whilst my partner had Malaga & tiramisu flavour covered in white chocolate. The service was really quick and in excellent English and really reasonably priced!

We ran into this ice cream, place close to our apartment we were renting. They have a salted ice cream, including one named after them frigidarium. There is always the line and takes about 10 to 15 minutes, but it is worth it. We went there multiple times, we’re never disappointed. It is kind of close to piazza Navona.

You can sure eat a lot of gelato in Rome in summer. Frigidarium is open until late and is just off Piazza Navona which makes it easy to swing by for a late-night gelato. Servings are generous servings, there is a big choice of flavours and they are temptingly displayed. Can recommend pistchacchio and also chocolate-orange. There almost always seems to be a queue here but it is good.

Amazing ice cream and friendly team. Really enjoyed the ice cream choices they had and was a lot nicer athomosphere than other places where you’d order at a separate place than pay for it. The team was very friendly and helpful and got some recommendations what topping would go well with the ice cream we choose and it was delicious! We will be back!

Parioli
Young and well-to-do families are the street flavor of Parioli. A new kind of Rome, this area is centuries away from the Renaissance with its pockets of 1930s palaces, tony boutiques, open-air markets and plenty of coffee shops. Parioli was built as an enclave for last century’s haute bourgeois and still represents as such in 21st century Rome. Need a break? The area has several great sporting clubs known for tennis and riding, a wonderful modern art museum, easy access to the zoo (Europe’s oldest), and is nestled around Rome’s very best parks including Villa Borghese, Villa Ada and Villa Glori.
