We found his restaurant by chance, and even when we realized that we were given a table next to the busy stair case, nothing could spoil our enjoyment. The proprietor and staff were extremely welcoming, friendly and overall the service was very good. The bread offered is fresh, crusty and excellent, the wine is tasty and the meal, though perhaps... We loved this place and wished we had discovered it sooner during our stay so we could have eaten here again. This restaurant serves good local dishes at very reasonable prices. My family of 3 spent 28 euro here (including 1/2 litre of house wine). My 10-year old loved it. It has a rustic, comfortable, and relaxed atmosphere.

After 3 days in Rome being ripped off for extremely low quality food, we stumbled across this family-run restaurant. It took longer to get served, but well worth the wait. Gnoccis, salad, starters and tiramisu were excelent. The staff don't speak much English but menu is in English so no problems at all. Unfortunately we found it on our last... More

We came here for dinner our last night in Rome after walking past a few times. We were in search of an authentic family-run Italian restaurant, and we found it. Very little English spoken (though menu available in English). The food was good (not amazing) but prices are very reasonable and the overall experience was great. The bulk of customers... More

Went here looking for real italian food and we certainly got that. Food was absolutely amazing, wine good, the place was full of locals who got really good service. Unfortunately although we got ok service they were a little cold towards us,the owner didn't even speak to us or even make eye contact. This made us feel a little bit uncomfortable.... More

Staying in Trastevere

Neighborhood Profile
Trastevere ("beyond the Tiber") is like a faded postcard, a little worn around the edges but still charming. With its wide-open piazzas, meandering streets, weathered Renaissance buildings, and overgrown personality, it's become an irresistible mecca for visitors. Trastevere is an enclave of entertainment - a rotating set of street performers entertains almost every night, and unforgettable eateries and bars pepper its piazzas and side streets. For a trip to the past, visit the southern and western flanks of Trastevere for pockets of yesteryear, less traversed areas with a residual 1960s and 70s Roman vibe.
