don't need to spend for larger size. They can only put so much onto a cone. I got the 2.5 Euro one and it was hugest gelato i had in Italy at that point. So great deal. Had regular stuff like hazel nut, pistaccio, and...cafe flavour. You get 3 choices no matter which size. Better than the pricier Venchi and others charging 4-5 Euro for medium. Ice cream was good but maybe not the best I've tested. But won't complain at 2.5 Euro as it hits the spot after night of eating out or drinking in the heart of TrastevereMore
The portion was huge the gelato was fresh the price was very cheap and the staff were friendly enough. Good experience all in all.
I had a wonderful experience at Old Bridge. They have a variety of very unique flavours, super cheap but the portions are huge! The staff were very friendly and playful.
After previously having a bad experience at Giolitti, which a lot of people believe is the best what a breath of fresh air this place was. We took a recommendation from our Made in Rome tours guide and we weren't disappointed! You could actually taste...the fruits in the gelato. The flavours were sharp and we were also served by very polite staff and have been back three times, in two days already! I cannot say its the best, we're not from Rome but what I can say is that its the best of the six we've tried so far!More
The best gelato in Rome IMHO. I haven’t tasted better. Recommend the maracuja (Passion Fruit). Nice Patient service.
The best of the best! The ice cream is very natural and delicious! The place is near to Vatican area.
Like lots of people, we walked out of the Vatican museums exhausted (but enchanted) and we decided to walk to this tiny ice cream parlor to take a break. We paid 10 euros for 4 ice creams (in cups) which is really cheap if you...consider the quality and the quantity. My kids had "regular" flavors, chocolate (which was very tasty and creamy ) and cream (which is their version of "plain" ice cream) - they both enoyed it immensely. I had two scoops, one of maracuja which was excellent and one of blueberry yogurt, also very very good. These ice creams are home made, nothing industrial here and the owner and staff are very nice and friendly. Go, you won't regret it.More
Old Bridge is a top notch galeria, one of the best! I recommend Old Bridge and avoid any gelateria with bright, unnatural colors on display, paying close to their pistachio color which should be light browm with a hint of green hue.
Creamy, full of flavour and a real essence of the real gelato of Rome. Really well priced, service with a smile and simply delicious. The best part being this place is literally next door to our B&B. For all your trips close to the Vatican City...and museums - make this gelato shop a definite stop on your bucket listMore
Me and my wife went here for ice cream post our Vatican Museum visit. They have €2, €2.5, €3 and €5 potion sizes (in each you get to choose 3 scoops of ice cream). We liked pista and coconut the most.
Now available via franchising, but a part of Rome for thirty-five years, Old Bridge Gelato plays a prominent role in a day at The Vatican for many, its frequently-long line best circumvented via early-morning or late-evening arrival. Located at Viale Bastioni di Michelangelo 5, Vatican...City walls looming just across the street, it is from this seatless storefront that guests are offered thirty daily flavors, nothing too esoteric but all bases built from fresh Fruits and good Italian Organic Dairy. The product of two artisans, their original handmade approach since streamlined by “cutting edge machines,” it is without preservatives, artificial colors are stabilizers that Old Bridge Gelato’s texture finds itself nearly soft-serve creamy, and although Pistachio lacked the intensity of other Roman shops both the Chocolate-flecked 5tracciatella and Biscotto fared just fine.More
Small shop with a big reputation. We had to wait in lines past other shops to get our gelato. They serve a disappointingly small range of flavors, but the size and quality of the servings make up for it.
Good value, good ice cream. Would recommend. On the walk from Vatican museum to St Peter’s basilica.
Be ready to wait for your sweet treat...almost always there's going to be a queue...but it's certainly worth the wait! Great place to have gelato and at a reasonable price.
