Many peoples knows this nice lovely hosteria da Giulia, cusine della nonna, a warm atmosphere, copious plates with an combination of flavours and spices and traditional products.

We were very glad to have booked in advance at this busy and bustling little quaint restaurant. We were greeted very warmly and looked after attentively all evening by Giulia (the owner) and Bijay (our server). I had the Pork Leg (the biggest single Pork Leg serving I've ever seen!) whilst my partner had the veal. A bottle of Giulia's... More

We went to diner in Historia La Botticella my boyfriend and I a weekday when the restaurant was full. The lady (I think the owner as well) has been very accommodating to find a table. We ordered antipasti of veg + antipasti of cheese then pasta. The food was generous, delicious, served in big portion and for a very honest... More

We booked. Many were turned away which was a clue to the attraction of this little family run hostaria in Trastevere. We were squeezed in among maybe 25 patrons but did not feel crowded. I tried tripe for the first time since my mother cooked it some 60 years ago - loved it. Ros had a oven roasted leg of... More

We were two times in Hostaria La Botticella and two times the food was simply delicious! Typical Italian dinner - big portions and very nice atmosphere. Don't try to go there without the reservation! When you're there must also try the desserts, especially tiramisu and ricotta cake. We are pretty sure that the rest of the desserts is on the... More

A fantastic hidden place in Trastevere. We ran into it by accident and got lucky to get a table as it was quite late already. In general this Hosteria is mostly fully booked. We went there two times in our 5 day stay in Rome, as it was the best place we found in our Neighborhood. Just one warning, the... More

Wonderful food and lovely Italian atmosphere. Perfect location in the heart of Rome. The best seafood spaghetti and seviche we have had. Highly recommended!!! But you must book in advance or be disappointed because it is popular.

We ate there last summer and i am only just getting round to review. Excellent food. Friendly and great workers. We went like at 5pm and it filled up inside and outside very quickly. We ordered a lot of food and wish we could have eaten it all cause it was so good! A definite must go to place if... More

Staying in Trastevere

Neighborhood Profile
Trastevere ("beyond the Tiber") is like a faded postcard, a little worn around the edges but still charming. With its wide-open piazzas, meandering streets, weathered Renaissance buildings, and overgrown personality, it's become an irresistible mecca for visitors. Trastevere is an enclave of entertainment - a rotating set of street performers entertains almost every night, and unforgettable eateries and bars pepper its piazzas and side streets. For a trip to the past, visit the southern and western flanks of Trastevere for pockets of yesteryear, less traversed areas with a residual 1960s and 70s Roman vibe.
