Excellent food and friendly atmosphere. Their selection of fish and meats is quite good and some dishes in particular. Most of all we enjoyed their world famous chicken peas, potato, clams and black truffle. Excellent first courses their home made spaghetti, arucola and slivers of Parmigiano cheese , or the Spaghetti with clams. For second dishes we like their fish... More

After a full day of sight seeing we were going here as a last resort as in way too tired to consider going elsewhere when the waiter blatantly ignored us 3 times when we waited to be seated. We went to manger for this in end. We asked for two peronis, we were brought two parottis with a grumble we... More

I sat here to do some work, ordered a cappuccino, and enjoyed the atmosphere. When I tried to order another cappuccino I was treated like an idiot. The owner was serving me and made sarcastic jokes to my face about how stupid I was. After coming here I was severely disappointed. I will never come here again.

We have wonderful food, spaghetti carbonara and spaghetti vongole ( with mussels and clamps) it was amazing 😊 1 l of good wine, 1 bier and mineral water for the price of 40 euro 👍🏻it was worth it. Try it if you're can😊

This restaurant is good value and provides a wide ranging menu and wine list. It is possible to eat here relatively cheaply. The service is polite and efficient.

Very good pizza and tiramisu. I tried margerita and marinara. Both great. The service was slow once but quality very good.

If you find yourself walking all over Rome, by the end of the day even trying to read a menu can be painful. That is why I suggest finding a good Italian trattoria such as this one. The food is simple but well made - you'll have a great meal at a very good price (the wine prices are also... More

Al Cavallino Bianco is a homey establishment that suits for both a quick morning coffee and a multi-course dinner. Certainly worth a stop if one is staying in the Esquilino area.

Staying in Esquilino

Neighborhood Profile
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
