We got lucky! We met the owner, Federico, a few blocks from his restaurant when he heard us talking and stopped us. He asked where we were from, Atlanta, and said he knew the former police chief. We told him we were looking for a place to have dinner and he suggested we go to his restaurant. We got to... More

We're just waiting for the bill, so happy I'm compelled to write a review. We went for the simplest things on the menu and they were nicer than you can imagine. The wine recommended us was perfect and the service all round so friendly and enthusiastic. Coffee has just arrived with beautiful homemade biscuits 💙👏🏻🇧🇬🍷

The restaurant it's tiny and so quaint. The food is simple and really good! Well priced for what you get. The dish you cannot miss is the fried artichoques with whipped ricotta Jewish style: outstanding. The gnocchi with shrimp also very good. The orata was fresh and light coated in almonds. The staff is delightful and attentive.

Reserved a table online and had a great table upon arrival. Staff were very friendly and the man who (I assume) was the owner was very social in the dining area. Received a tasty welcome drink. Tempura vegetables to start was a unique starter for us on this trip and we really enjoyed it. Wife had carbonara and I had... More

My husband and I decided to try this restaurant after seeing the great reviews on trip advisor. It did not disappoint! The service was fantastic. Our servers were friendly and helpful with giving suggestions on food and drinks. We ordered the artichoke for our appetizer. It was delicious! Both our meals were presented well and tasted even better. The desert... More

Met the proprietor, Federico, by chance and were invited to his restaurant that was around the corner from our apartment. Our entire family loved the meal and it turned out to be our best in Rome. Seafood was phenomenal, especially the whole fish and lobster. Steaks were American size versus the smaller European cuts that we usually get. Wine pairings... More

This last day and dinner in Rome was one to remember. Our previous meal in the neighborhood wasn't memorable. This one was fantastic. Federico our host and the staff were very attentive. The pasta dishes were as good as we've had in Italy, especially the eggplant ravioli. In addition to the pasta dishes, we had a filet which was grilled... More

We came across this place by accident but we were not disappointed. The pasta was amazing but the surprise was in the salt crusted sea bass! It was amazing! The final surprise was the dessert! The hot chocolate cake was beyond great! The entire meal was amazing and the staff is warm and friendly! A must do!

It is more expensive, but one of the best restaurants we have been to in Rome. Many of the places to eat around the Piazza del Popolo are mediocre at best. This one is wonderful! The pasta is homemade, the cheeses and salumi are local and very fresh. Thank you!

Staying in Campo Marzio

Neighborhood Profile
Campo Marzio
From its original role as ancient army training fields to its present-day identity as one of the city’s most desirable neighborhoods, the Campo Marzio is the best place to get lost in Rome. Gorgeous Renaissance and Baroque palazzos line the streets, and are filled with enticing boutiques and food shops. By day, Rome’s best-dressed denizens criss-cross its streets in a fashionable parade of errands, occasionally pausing to look fabulous in gorgeous piazzas like San Lorenzo in Lucina. Campo Marzio can be a bit of a sleeper after aperitivi hour (9pm), so visit by day and experience the pulse of daytime Rome.
