Places have lines for a reason. We walked past this restaurant on several occasions noticing lines of people waiting for a table. We decided to go on the early side to avoid a substantial wait. The pasta carbonara was one of the best I have...More
The restaurant is located on a charming street in the Trastavere district, with lots of outdoor seating kept cool by a cover. We had great wood oven-style pizzas that were very affordable. Carlos and Martina were courteous and spoke English to us, which we really...More
Amazing dinner at Tonnarello! An authentic Italian meal. All of the pastas were outstanding - the rigatoni Amatriciana and the pesto pasta are a must. Brian and Lorenzino we’re such entertaining waiters! Will defiantly be spreading the word about this awesome restaurant!
We ate both starters, main courses and dessert. The meal in its entirety was beautiful, and the service was very good, both welcoming and effective. Our waitor Salvo took great care of us. The food, as the location, was authentic Italian.
Fantastic setting, great food, great service, left full and extremely happy!
Had the meatballs and the pesto pasta for lunch. Two of the best dishes we had in Rome! There is a reason this place is so high up the list for restaurants in Trastevere!...More
The food was amazing the ambiance was great. Gabriele was great! He recommended good food and was extremely friendly. Try the house wine. Next time we come to Rome will definitely be returning to this restaurant.
Trastevere ("beyond the Tiber") is like a faded postcard, a little worn around the edges but still charming. With its wide-open piazzas, meandering streets, weathered Renaissance buildings, and overgrown personality, it's become an irresistible mecca for visitors. Trastevere is an enclave of entertainment - a rotating set of street performers entertains almost every night, and unforgettable
eateries and bars pepper its piazzas and side streets. For a trip to the past, visit the southern and western flanks of Trastevere for pockets of yesteryear, less traversed areas with a residual 1960s and 70s Roman vibe.
