Another winner from Rick Steves. We had a delicious lunch at this surprisingly quiet spot right near the river. The waiter kindly offered to split our yummy octopus starter for us. The pastas (carbonara and ravioli) were spicy and terrific. Our last lunch in Rome...More

We just happened to walk by this restaurant and decided to stop. It was our first meal in Rome and turned out to be one of the best. We all got different pastas and they were fabulous. There was even a wondering magician that put...More

This place was our favourite restaurant ever in Rome!!! The location is really nice and the setting is so pretty. As a vegetarian there wasn’t much choice for me so I asked if they could do something special for me and they made me spaghetti...More

Our first night in Italy, we decided to go for dinner at a place near our hotel. The restaurant is just across Ponte Sisto from our hotel, the menu looked good, so off we went. We were seated promptly. The menu has many choices. We...More

Went here when we couldn't get into Zi'Umberto lower down! The staff where pleasant and the atmosphere friendly. Food was good, but not spectacular! My son was disappointed with the breaded lamb! Reasonably priced same as the other local Osterias!

Food was Cooked to preference and waiters pleasant, although menu explanation was very sparse and the lamb was in breadcrumbs or batter which hid that it was devoid of meat. Wouldn’t go there again to eat. €130 for 4 starters and 3 main meals with...More

This restaurant was recommended by our Airbnb host. The antipasti we got - Fantasia di Nate and carciofi - were very good. The primi were also excellent. I ordered a secundo - pork loin but it never arrived and we weren’t charged for it. The...More

During our unguided foot tour of Rome, we came across this local establishment. I found out it was one of the oldest standing osterias in the city (1929). A non english speaking server came out to greet us and we sat outside as it was...More

Good food at reasonable prices. It helps to cross the river. Large pasta portions. The outdoor terrace is a bit tight but it works.

Trastevere ("beyond the Tiber") is like a faded
postcard, a little worn around the edges but still
charming. With its wide-open piazzas, meandering
streets, weathered Renaissance buildings, and
overgrown personality, it's become an irresistible
mecca for visitors. Trastevere is an enclave of
entertainment - a rotating set of street performers
entertains almost every night, and unforgettable
