On our second day in Rome, my wife and I ventured out into the city and wanted to get a good flavor of the people, the history, and the food. So, we departed on the 81 Bus and headed to the Colosseo and Palatine Hill area. No problem getting there, but we got on the 81 bus headed back at... More

Our family ended up by frequenting this restaurant during our stay in Rome. The food is excellent as well as the service, and the price is much lower than many of the rather bad restaurants we unfortunately tried were charging.

Believe the reviews! Family run trattoria just across from our hotel. Service was excellent and made to feel right at home. We ordered calzone pizza and a ravioli both of which were delicious and freshly made! We 100% recommend the tiramisu and the panacotta - both homemade! Cannot fault this place!

What a sweet, uncomplicated, HONEST Italian trattoria! We were guided here by a neighborhood local that we struck up a conversation with on the bus, and am I ever glad we got past the unassuming look to sit down inside and enjoy the terrific food. Spaghetti with clams was terrific, as was Ravioi, proscuitto and melon, etc. Warm and friendly... More

Honestly one of the best places we went to. Small family run restaurant which unlike nearly all the others around the Vatican doesn't pester you asking if you want a table. We ended up going at least 3 times during our stay and cannot fault them. Good food at a good price! Love it.

We love this place, and always stop in when we are in Rome. Aldo runs this charming and tasty place, and now his daughter Francesca is working there. We take our friends and family also to enjoy Aldo's fine food. He has a vegetable appetizer plate that he puts together for you, that is SOO good, sometimes, that is all I want, but we enjoy his... More

This family owned restaurant quickly became one of our favorite places to eat in Rome. It was just across the street from our hotel so upon arrival in Rome, we decided to try it. Turned out to be a gem. The food was moderately priced, and very good. The atmosphere was authentic and quaint. The family took pride in their... More

After a hot, exhausting day of sightseeing with a couple of disappointing experiences, a lovely lady riding the bus next to us sent us on our way to TAVERNA VARRONE. Met by Franchesca at the front door, she made us feel welcomed like family. As hubby and I enjoyed Wood Fired pizza and a glass of local wine, our emotional... More

We ate there upon arrival from the airport. A nice little resraurant with typical italian touches. The owner an the waitress were very lovely an the food was very good. I had a pizza salamino picante an my wife some spaghetti carbonare. Fresh homemade Pasta. We have a very good time there. Worth trying out.

Staying in Prati

Neighborhood Profile
Prati
Just steps away from the chaos of the center, Prati is the closest Rome gets to calm. Meticulously planned in a neat grid, quite unlike neighboring Borgo, Prati is a local favorite for its aesthetic organization and wide streets lined with a range of boutiques for every shopping fantasy. Nonnis pushing baby carriages and gossiping teens own every inch of the sidewalk, but that’s only during business hours. Once the sun sets, quirky sidestreet bars celebrate aperitivo hour, those evening cocktails that help wash away the tensions of Roman life.
