My wife and I went gelato-hunting in Rome. Tried many highly rated gelato places but this one served the best. No fancy colorings, syrups, and other unnecessary additions to beef up their products - just honest good gelato with amazing texture. Not overly sweet either, which is a major plus for us.

Not our first time here. It's still good, but not as good as I remember it. Not sure if that's because I've had lots of other gelato since then or it's depreciated a bit.

We had gelato here three or four times during our stay in Rome. This place, unlike many other gelato places seems genuine. Lot's of different unusual flavors and according to the person in charge no artificial flavors added. It's not the best gelato I have ever had , but it's really nice (the cones are unfortunately less nice).

Located very close to the Vatican, but still pleasantly away from the hordes of tourists, this place serves some of the best gelato I have ever had.

Real Gelato. Authentic and no frills. Tried a few different Gelato places during our visit and this was the best by far. Full of locals, we were the only tourists there. Pistacho and chocolate mixed together was delicious! Try to make a stop here when you plan on visiting the Vatican or else the location is a bit out of... More

I tried this gelateria on the second-to-last day of my trip and I wish I tried it the first so I could go back several times. I got pistachio with dark chocolate and it was amazing.

This was close to our lodging and decided we needed something sweet after getting pasta wasted. Our experience was not good due to the rudeness of guy that was working that night. The place was empty and when we entered the store, he saw us, disappeared to the back and only came back out when another person walked in. He... More

This is one of two ice cream shops, one not far from the Vatican just off the busy shopping street Via Cola di Renzo and the other close to Piazza del Popolo. The flavours are superb and it is like simply eating the creamed frozen version of the original. A real competitor to Giolitti....

Based on Anthony Bourdain's recommendation we went to check out this place and it was AWESOME! We have tried a whole bunch of different gelatos, and of course it is all a matter of personal taste but the red plum was AMAZING (not too sweet, a bit tangy)

Although priced at about a euro more than other ice cream places in the area, Gracchi may well be worth it. The Crema di Pinoli ice cream is particularly delicious and haven't seen that flavor elsewhere.

Staying in Prati

Neighborhood Profile
Just steps away from the chaos of the center, Prati is the closest Rome gets to calm. Meticulously planned in a neat grid, quite unlike neighboring Borgo, Prati is a local favorite for its aesthetic organization and wide streets lined with a range of boutiques for every shopping fantasy. Nonnis pushing baby carriages and gossiping teens own every inch of the sidewalk, but that’s only during business hours. Once the sun sets, quirky sidestreet bars celebrate aperitivo hour, those evening cocktails that help wash away the tensions of Roman life.
