It's a historical restaurant near the Colosseum, that offers Roman dishes, meat, fish, no pizza. Air conditioning, free wifi, small pets allowed, disabled inaccessible. Go park the car on the blue parking lots scattered around the area, and have a walk through the evocative streets of the city centre. You can reach us by stepping off the Metro A "Cavour". Characteristic dessert of the place: the Dolcevita, a sort of "panna cotta" without eggs (it was dedicated the the Italian director Fellini, who happened to be allergic to eggs).

Maybe this was a good restaurant in the past, but our experience was not good compared to the amazing food and service we have been eating in other places in Rome. We would not return to this place. We order meat steak with green pepper...and fresh pasta with cheese. Both were ok-ish...meat was good but sauce was too creamy. Pasta was just standard pasta. Hope this place gets again the quality that reviews once given. Gnocchi is no longer in the menu and in our case we were not given the choice of the dishes not included in the menu as other tables were given. We will not return to this place.More

This restaurant offers delicious Roman cuisine at very reasonable prices. The staff is friendly and attentive. Making a reservation is recommended. We dinned at Le Tavernelle twice on our recent visit to Rome and each evening the food was deliciously consistent. We had the Roman...style artichokes as an appetizer, they are delightfully simmered and served with olive oil. Trippa alla Romana (tripe Roman style) is served in a rich and delicious tomato sauce. The The pasta dishes are cooked to perfection! Most dishes are prepared to order so expect a little bit of wait. Looking forward to dinning here again.More

Second time after one year in this restaurant, the menu is slightly reformatted but the offer is similar, traditional Roman fare. Very good puntarelle and artichokes the Roman way (not "a la giudia", these are boiled rather than deep fried), followed by one of the...best santimbocca I can remember, served with potato wedges. Good Frascati superiore to drink. The service is efficient and quick, only problem the rather cramped and noisy location. The bill was entirely reasonable. My friends had some gorgeous pasta dishes... next time probably...More

Wonderful food and service. A Old school interior with tasty food. You must go. Visit the charity bar up the road for some live music afterwards

We called in here after our first choice restaurant was full - we’re SO GLAD we did! Parter had Ossabucco, I had roast lamb - both were wonderfully delicious. A great find. Highly recommended. A pity we only discovered it on our last night in...Rome.More

I sought out restaurant in order to have Tripa Romagna, but group of 5 enjoyed a swath of the large menu. Tripe could be cut with a fork and had great flavor. Wine list smallish, but very well curated. Each wine was very good.

Not a tourist trap! Genuine, abudant and tasty traditional dishes. Not the best in Rome but perfectly satisfying. Friendly service.

This friendly family-run restaurant was a great find. The service was good, it was very reasonably priced and some of the food was really great, especially the excellent cacio e pepe. Worth going for that.

Our family of four ate lunch here on a Saturday. We were the only tourists in the entire restaurant. The other diners were all locals enjoying a leisurely lunch. The food was outstanding, as was the service. I highly recommend the beef tenderloin and the...pepper and cheese pasta.More
