I find it very hard to find poor food in Italy, but sometimes that's what u get... We sought a place open for an early dinner (not easy to find!) and this was the best option we could find. The ambiance is. Ice but the food was not. Rarely do I recall leaving tiramisu on my plate... There are so... More

We stumbled across Ditta Trinchetti, which was a great find on our last night in Rome. We wanted something special but not too touristy and this restaurant didn't disappoint. The staff were very friendly and the food beautiful - particularly the lasagne with pumpkin. The wine was also really good and very reasonable. Would definitely recommend!

We were after saltimbocca alla romana but they didn't have it so we ordered something else and still left very satisfied. The bresaola and the carpaccio di bacala were delicious and so were our main course and desserts. The wine recommendation was also very good. Service was swift and efficient.

We ate lasagne and cannelone first. They were okay. We ate beef steak and lamb for second dish and they were disaster. Lamb was full of fat etc. Beef steak was also full of fat but in overall taste bettet than lamb but still overpriced (20e). Cannot recommend the place after this one visit... but if you go just eat... More

FourSquare reviews looked good so dined here for lunch one day. Really nothing special. The pasta was fine but not that great and seemed cheaply made in high quantity. Not particularly cheap for the quality. You can do better!

I come here regularly with family and friends because the food is delicious, the service is friendly and the environment is simple and enchanting. The food is aways fresh, carefully and imaginatively prepared and unpretentious. I choose from the weekly menu and I have never been disappointed. Delicious food. Cosy, pretty restaurant. Fairly priced. Don't miss it!

We had a great traditional lunch here and thoroughly enjoyed it. Lovely staff (family owned), good portion sizes and choices.

Slow and ignorant service. Food served without any presentation- piece of meat and some baked potatoes. Lamb had more bone and fat than meat. There was nothing to eat there for 16 euro.

Good service, great wine and food. The octopus salad was de-li-cious, the pear salad too, in a beautiful surrounding....!

Staying in Trastevere

Neighborhood Profile
Trastevere ("beyond the Tiber") is like a faded postcard, a little worn around the edges but still charming. With its wide-open piazzas, meandering streets, weathered Renaissance buildings, and overgrown personality, it's become an irresistible mecca for visitors. Trastevere is an enclave of entertainment - a rotating set of street performers entertains almost every night, and unforgettable eateries and bars pepper its piazzas and side streets. For a trip to the past, visit the southern and western flanks of Trastevere for pockets of yesteryear, less traversed areas with a residual 1960s and 70s Roman vibe.
