We had a great traditional lunch here and thoroughly enjoyed it. Lovely staff (family owned), good portion sizes and choices.

Slow and ignorant service. Food served without any presentation- piece of meat and some baked potatoes. Lamb had more bone and fat than meat. There was nothing to eat there for 16 euro.

Good service, great wine and food. The octopus salad was de-li-cious, the pear salad too, in a beautiful surrounding....!

I always love a good pasta dish but the pasta at Ditta Trinchetti was next level delicious! We ordered some local specialities of the specials board and enjoyed every dish that came to our table. This is a great restaurant to go to for authentic and beautifully prepared Italian food. Highly recommended!

The waitress was nice and gave my good service. However I was not that happy about the food. The bruchetta was burned, and not only a little bit as is common, but to a degree that I had to turn it down. Furthermore it was drowning in olive oil. Far far more oil than would be tasteful was used, maybe... More

We stopped here to hide from the rain. My daughter and I shared "Tagliere misto di salumi e formaggi" (A Mixed selection of cheeses and cold cuts). While my wife ordered lasagna. We also got a bottle of wine. The food was delicious and the staff were a lot of fun and helpful too. (They also tolerated my sub par... More

Great place to eat. Fresh ingrediënts in Italian food, made with a original twist. Staff is very friendly and offers help when needed. Great music: sixties rock and roll. Trastevere was great To come back to. Ditta Trinchetti wil be on our list again.

Via della Lungaretta has a lot of the so-called 'tourist traps', but Ditta Trinchetti is absolutely not one of them! This is a beautiful and cosy decorated, authentic Italian restaurant; a true respite from the countless 'hard-selling' waiters on the street. Though the venue is quite narrow, it runs long, with a dilatation for some family tables in the back.... More

This restaurant is great, we stopped for coffee and decided to try a dessert, Panna Cotta was fabulous, served with wild mixed berries, strawberries and raspberries, delicious, lovely setting and relaxing, well worth a visit.

We visit there for dinner. The food was pretty delicious but the waitress did not even bother to explain my question on wine list and turned her back and leave. The overall attitude was also very unwilling and rude as if they are forced to do service to us. So I wouldn't recommend to anyone unless they learn some manners.

Staying in Trastevere

Neighborhood Profile
Trastevere ("beyond the Tiber") is like a faded postcard, a little worn around the edges but still charming. With its wide-open piazzas, meandering streets, weathered Renaissance buildings, and overgrown personality, it's become an irresistible mecca for visitors. Trastevere is an enclave of entertainment - a rotating set of street performers entertains almost every night, and unforgettable eateries and bars pepper its piazzas and side streets. For a trip to the past, visit the southern and western flanks of Trastevere for pockets of yesteryear, less traversed areas with a residual 1960s and 70s Roman vibe.
