Searched this gelateria out based on a guidebook recommendation and SO glad we did. The gelato is made on site with fresh, fresh, fresh flavours. I had pineapple and mint (pieces of fresh pineapple and snipped mint leaves throughout) and white peach and lavender- both tasted absolutely amazing, and the price was comparable with the posher end of mass-produced ice cream in the UK. If I ever return to Rome I will be straight back here.

Artisanal ice cream shop with a variety of original flavors. I tried two that I loved: Limone di Amalfi, with unparalleled freshness and acidity, and Rosmarino, Miele e Limone, a surprising blend where rosemary blends perfectly with honey and lemon. A must if you want to enjoy authentic ice cream in Rome.

The gelato at this place is amazing and they have plenty of vegan options. Id the gelato has a blue spoon, that means it’s vegan. The guy working there was nice and gave us good service, but there was a woman who wasn’t as friendly. I asked to sample some of the vegan gelato and was told that I could only sample 2. But if you go to gelateria dell’angeletto, they let you sample as many vegan flavors as you want. Overall, the gelato was good and I’m glad they had so many vegan options!

Disappointing gelato. The stracciatella had not a bit of chocolate. The coffee and almond were both a little icey. The chocolate fondente was quite good. The portions were particularly small compared to other highly recommended gelato shops in town. Gelateria del Viale is much better. Even Tre Scalini is better.

The server could quite clearly see that we and others were waiting to be served, but continued to chat with a work colleague. No acknowledgement. Really ruse. After 5 minutes politely waiting, we left. A shame as the ice cream looked good and of that doesn’t change I don’t think this business will be here for long.

Inconsistent and too watery. Homemade ice cream is something else. It's probably good for the many tourists who don't know what real Italian ice cream is. Too bad, it's the usual Roman place where money counts more than reputation. The two guys at the counter are good and friendly.

Their gelato is made on site with fresh ingredients and was seriously the best gelato I’ve had in Italy. We stayed nearby and I ate gelato here at least once a day! The Caffe and Tiramisu flavours were sooo good

One of the best Gelatos in Rome. Found it by accident but the gelato was really good, fresh. We tested chocolate and Lemon and the second one you could actually feel like eating a lemon. The staff were really nice as well.

Located at Via dei Coronari 65, not far from the river, Gelateria del Teatro is considered to be one of Rome’s best places for Ice Cream by some, a reliance on fresh Ingredients yielding some forty flavors daily with seasonal specials changing frequently.
Offering guests the opportunity to watch Gelato being made through a large window, both this location and one at Lungotevere dei Vallati open from 11h30 until 24h00, guests are unfortunately denied a taste before making purchases, which thus encourages a reliance on past favorites.
Also selling various Chocolates and Candies, questionably made on-site, three scoops were added to the top of a yeasty Cone for a bit more than Rome’s average, the arrangement not particularly eye-catching but Base luscious and creamy with good flavors of Pine Nut and Pistachio, though less from Torrone.

Fantastic gelato. Great place for our last night of gelato. I got the milk chocolate and the millefoglie, which is the Italian flavor version of France’s mille-feuille, which is a Napoleon. Crispy pastry, chocolate and vanilla custard cremes, absolute decadence and the best flavor combo I had in my 2 weeks of gelato eating.

We stumbled across this Gelateria by accident and so glad we did. The freshness and intensity of the flavours such as mint and ginger shines through the beautifully creamy ice cream.
Not expensive for Rome and very, very good. Better then most of the famous ice cream shops in my opinion.

I have tried many gelato in Italy. And this place makes the best pistachio gelato I have ever eaten. It tastes exactly like you just peeled the pistachio. And the same goes for their chocolate/orange gelato. So intense and authentic taste, not sweet like any other place. Please go and support them. I am going back tomorrow <3

We'd heard of this gelateria but ended up accidentally stumbling upon it while shopping on Via Dei Coronari during our vacation in Rome. The store front is super cute, and you can even see the gelato being made through one of the windows - that's how you know it's the real deal! There were so many incredible flavors, and it was difficult to choose! I finally settled on a cone with two scoops - one of strawberry and one of lemon. It was super tart, but so tasty! You could even still see the seeds in the strawberry flavor!

These guys can cook! On a whirlwind tour of Rome in hot summer so had loads of gelato. Without a doubt this was simply the best. Best for interesting but delicious flavours (pineapple and mint, strawberry cheesecake, Sicilian pistachio anyone?), best for value (2 euros for two flavours compared to 2.5-3.5 at others), best for service. Located close to piazza Navonna on a quiet street that takes one close to castel St Angelo, close to a quaint quiet square with a simple but popular fountain- the pigeons seemed to like it so one could watch them guzzling away. Didn’t have time to have tried the neighbouring cucina- but will make a beeline to both if ever back in Rome. R

Our favorite gelato hands down when we were in Rome. Spectacular! We tried about 10 places when we were there in August (it was 90 degrees and we were walking about 10 mi/day), and this place was tasty we went out of our way to have it again before we left. Plus, the location is so cute and there are plenty of places to enjoy your treat after you order.
