My husband and I dined at Babbo's on February 13th, his birthday. The staff were very prompt and friendly, and the quality of the food was homey and put together with care. The staff even treated us to an apertif to celebrate, after putting a candle in the tiramisu and singing happy birthday. All in all a great experience! Would... More

We were recommended this restaurant by the staff at our hotel. After spending the evening with friends at a nearby bar, we decided we would give Babbo's a try for a light late night dinner. When we ordered an appetizer and a pizza to share, our server made a comment about how pizzas are meant to be ordered one per... More

Very good food, cozy restaurant and good service. Smallish place; easy walk from train station. And the homemade garlic bread was the best I've ever had. Prices were significantly higher than our favorite, La Familia, so we only dined here once.

Found it accidently on arrival in Rome while looking for our hotel. Decided to return the next night. Food was great & reasonably priced. For dessert try their lemon sorbet. It's different from what you would usually expect!

My mark is 3.5. We came here on the evening of Christmas eve. We knew the place would be busy but we weren't expecting it to be so packed. There were various groups both Romans and foreigners and it was quite noisy but that wasn't a huge problem for us. The service was very good at the beginning but things... More

Went here on our first evening. We were drawn in by a woman host who was very mother like and welcoming. With 2 young boys in tow we were seated. A nice and calm place with great delights. My partner had basil pasta and means my son went for Margherita pizza. We was not disappointed. Fresh tasting with fresh ingredients... More

Great and not-so-common recipes. Some with origibnal and striking presentations and allways a nice, homey feel about them. Fine choice of wines and OK service; all this for a budget.

A wonderful surprise considering the current TripAdvisor rating. Food was excellent and so was the service. The place is also very nice and clean.

Staying in Esquilino

Neighborhood Profile
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
