Recommended by our driver. Great place! The pizza was wonderful, the wine chosen by the waiter was delicious, and the dessert rounded out the meal wonderfully. Great attentive service but not over bearing. Great service all around. And this was only lunch. Fantastic find!

Our Airbnb host "Fransesco" recommended San Marco to us. Just down the street from our apartment. We has pizza and appetizers. For our first taste of Rome it hit the spot!! The pizza was excellent the caprese salad and the rest of our dishes all were outstanding.

There is an extensive menu at San Marco and we enjoyed tasty gnocchi with portobello mushrooms as a prima, after an uninspiring salad. However, the sea bass baked in salt was absolutely superb, moist and just delicious. We have a lovely pairing of wine that our waiter recommended and ended the dinner with a lovely chocolate souffle with a zabiglione... More

We visited this restaurant after a recommendation from our hotel host. Thankfully we didn't read the reviews first because everything about our meal was right on. We were a group of 16 and since our host called ahead, a table was waiting for us. Service was great and food was served quickly and as ordered. The menu is varied and... More

We visited this restaurant on recommendation of our hosts in Rome. We looked at the reviews and they weren't too great but we were hungry so headed to this restaurant anyway. They proved every bad review wrong. The food was delicious, there is an amazing range of pizza, pasta and salad dishes. There's something there for everyone! We visited the... More

We ate here 3 nights in a row, partly because it was very close to our hotel and it was a long walk downhill to the main area, but mainly because we enjoyed the food, it was reasonably priced, they catered for allergies and the service was very good.

The food at San Marco was pretty average Italian. Definitely not on our list of top places. The restaurant was beautiful, though, and decorated very thoughtfully.

Staying in Ludovisi / Via Veneto

Neighborhood Profile
Ludovisi / Via Veneto
Thanks to Fellini and La Dolce Vita, the Ludovisi and Via Veneto neighborhood earned its reputation as a posh area where gorgeous Marcellos wooed actresses and models while bored housewives hung out in streetside cafes. The cafes are still there, and so are the cocktails, but the neighborhood is now home to five-star businesses including hotels, banks, law firms, and embassies. The area is also right next to Villa Borghese, a beautiful park for sporting and cultural adventures. If you're looking for tranquility by night, this may be the place: Ludovisi and Veneto tend to shut down after 8pm.
