You have to queue first to order and pay for your gelati then queue again (more like a rugby scrum) to get your ice cream. Worth the wait. Good ice cream. Only thing stops me giving a 5 star rating is the crazy queuing non-system in place - you could spend 30+ mins waiting to get served....

Wonderful gelato as would be expected at this renowned establishment. The selection is quite varied which makes it difficult to decide. Just need to understand the que instructions for take-out.

We had a few great gelatos through Italy and this one was recommended by a local in Rome. It was fantastic.

One of my two favorite gelaterias in Rome. Great choice of tasty ice cream. Remember to pay at the cashier first and than present the receipt to order the gelato.

Thank goodness the gelato is incredible, the pomegranate and blackberry were amazing, like eating the fruit! However the experience truly sucks, you are cheek to jowl with no semblance of order, you can't see the gelato and then you ask for a cup and get chastised for not asking for one when you did. Only the excellence of the gelato... More

Take time to enjoy the photos - the history of this amazing place. It is a bar, bakery and diner! Best Gelato because they have a lot of non-dairy options and fruits flavors. Buy your ticket first, then go to the Gelato or dessert counter!!! Yum

Despite the great surrounding and fame Giolitti has an ice cream which is not impressing me at all. Price is high compared to the size and taste is just normal. Others (very close to the pantheon) offer better quality at cheaper price.

We visited here after reading a suggestion on the internet. We didn't regret it. The prices were similar to other ice cream parlours at €2.50 for a small. This included 2 scoops with the optional extra of free whipped cream on top. The shop was well organised with you purchasing a ticket before heading to the ice cream counter. They... More

When the say that Italians are good at making ice cream, it's all true, they just make the best ice cream in Roma, it's unbelievable how good it was.

Staying in Colonna

Neighborhood Profile
Frantic fashionistas, pedicured politicos, goal-oriented tourists, and on-the-go locals cross paths every day in Colonna, a delightful chaos in the very center of the city. Even though it has some of the city’s loveliest sites—a 2nd century column, Belle Epoque shopping center, and a magnificent Baroque parliament building—Colonna is not just another pretty face, but the cosmopolitan eye of Rome’s cultural storm. Colonna can safely say it has the best of Rome: museums, boutiques, window displays, restaurants, cafes, and people watching.
