A very popular gelato and dessert cafe. We went almost every day that we were in Rome. Be prepared to eat outside unless you order from the menu.

It all started with a recommendation and ended with a semi-smile on my face after the visit to Giolitti. We entered. Ordered by the register as you have to. Got our receipts. Went to the ice cream counter. Got our ice cream. Enjoyed the hell out of it. I had Peach, Mango and Pomegranate, freaking delicious. You could taste every... More

It is really difficult to decide who makes the best ice cream in Rome. Giolitti is for sure among the top places. The creams: delicious. The sorbets: wonderful. Too many good flavour. Every time if is very difficult to make a choice.

This is the place to try the true Gelato of Rome, huge variety of options, you'll be confused, prepare your order before getting your turn, and expect to stand in queue for few minutes.

Traditional gelateria, not far away from via corso. You have to order first at the cashier. There's always a line, but it's worth it!

There are queues and the service can be brusque but efficient, but this is the best ice-cream I have ever tasted, and I make a point of seeking out good ice cream wherever I go. This beats Bertillon in Paris and Ruby Violet in London. The sorbet pompelmo rosa and dark chocolate fondente are a sublime combination.

We are a lot of gelato in Rome and this was one of our favourites! There was a wide selection of flavours to choose from, both traditional and more unusual. The decor was really beautiful and there were also cakes and sweets for sale.

The queue is long for a good reason! Service is so fast that there is no wait. Lots of wonderful flavours, we tried a few and they were all great! And with cream on top, it's heaven!

I had read about this place in a newspaper supplement and made a note to visit it with my family when we went to Rome. Its not the easiest place to find but we persevered. It was a bit chaotic but eventually discovered you paid for the ice cream, got a receipt and then went to choose your ice-cream. The... More

The location is renowned and famous however the ice-cream on the day was watery and melted away too quickly.... Not good as my previous visits?!

Thank Pat N

Staying in Colonna

Neighborhood Profile
Frantic fashionistas, pedicured politicos, goal-oriented tourists, and on-the-go locals cross paths every day in Colonna, a delightful chaos in the very center of the city. Even though it has some of the city’s loveliest sites—a 2nd century column, Belle Epoque shopping center, and a magnificent Baroque parliament building—Colonna is not just another pretty face, but the cosmopolitan eye of Rome’s cultural storm. Colonna can safely say it has the best of Rome: museums, boutiques, window displays, restaurants, cafes, and people watching.
