We were tempted to just grab a cone as there were long queues bug in so glad we stopped! The restaurant is reserved for those ordering and so we found a seat relatively easily and the menu is incredible - I could have happily eaten any of it! We chose a dessert and although amazing, it was huge - definitely... More

We visit it because everybody suggested it. Of course their ice cream is perfect and not that expensive even if it is famous but you have to wait for a long queue. Something else I don't like is that they don't allow you to sit on the tables if you'll order only ice cream in a cone or cups.

I remember my past trips to Rome and Giolitti was the best. I was so excited to return and got my usual: nocciola and pistacchio. Sad to say it was no longer as good as I remember. Have been trying a few other spots recommended and there is better out there. The shop is an icon though - I would... More

The ice cream was not something to report home compared to other places we ate in Rome. Also not a place to sit with the kids and enjoy the ice cream. It is probably the oldest Gelateria in Rome, but when it comes to ice cream I would go on quality.

We stumbled across this iceceam shop by accident but it was so busy we guessed it must be good and boy was it good.....you buy it first at the door 2 scoops €2.50 then proceed to counter for the best iceceam have ever tasted.....The wild cherry was out of this world and the chocolate was divine could have done without... Went at the express recommendation of a waiter friend in Rome and I must concur that this is one of the to Gelato shops in Rome. Had their pineapple which was very nice in taste and texture ... cold as you should expect, but without the pineapple bits becoming hard from the cold. Wife had an apple ice-cream that was... More

We visited this place on a friend's recommendation and were back again the next day! Do yourself a favour and try the Nutella gelato, it's incredible, but the other flavours we tried were great as well. This place is very popular and can get quite busy (we had to line up the first time we went there on a Sunday... More

We have been back multiple times for the Gnutella ice-cream. It is simply amazing. I will cry when we leave. So creamy. I want to bathe in it. That is all.

You can take out a very good gelato, but you can sit down for one of their wonderful creations, that both look and taste great. I took one star off because they allow not just smoking, but cigar smoking outside. We were surrounded by people smoking cigars.

Delicious cannoli and pastries, nice atmosphere and a huge variety of desserts and gelato flavors. The staff doesn't speak English so communication was a bit difficult, other than that- no complaints. I recommend the Rice gelato, really unique and tasty.

Staying in Colonna

Neighborhood Profile
Colonna
Frantic fashionistas, pedicured politicos, goal-oriented tourists, and on-the-go locals cross paths every day in Colonna, a delightful chaos in the very center of the city. Even though it has some of the city’s loveliest sites—a 2nd century column, Belle Epoque shopping center, and a magnificent Baroque parliament building—Colonna is not just another pretty face, but the cosmopolitan eye of Rome’s cultural storm. Colonna can safely say it has the best of Rome: museums, boutiques, window displays, restaurants, cafes, and people watching.
