Fantastic meal from start to finish

One of the first places we ate in Rome, but it turned out to be one of the best! I recommend coming here with reservations, as Hostaria Romana is on the smaller side. I actually wasn't particularly hungry, so my family split a lot of dishes. I ordered the spaghetti ala carbonara specifically and... read more

Friends and I recently met for dinner at Hosteria Romana which I discovered while walking the back vias near Piazza Barberini. There was a TripAdvisor certificate of excellence prominently displayed in the window, so I knew I would eat well at this restaurant. The decor is unique as it presents a glimpse of old-world osteria casual dining with graffiti walls... More

this restaurant is super busy, you have to turn up at the opening times to get a walk in table. the serving staff are extremely pleasant and kind. i had the gorgonzola fettucine and my partner had the carbonara and both were out of this world. beautiful restaurant

We enjoyed that small bites of things were brought to the table to try in addition to our lunch. Seems to be a local favorite as it filled up quickly once the doors opened. I had the fettuccine. Very good food.

Visited this restaurant for the second time. Never disappoints. It's best to book a table in advance, so if you're in the Fontana di Trevi/Barberini area, drop by and make a reservation. It's frequented by locals and space can be quite limited.

We visited Hostaria Romana after arriving in Rome late the night before Christmas Eve. We thought the place would be dead, but it was bustling with equal parts tourists and Italians. Lots of locals were dining with friend and family, perhaps catching up before the holiday madness that was about to start. We were quickly seated and attacked the menu,... More

I really wanted to like this place - it was recommended by multiple people at our hotel. Unfortunately, it felt more like a caricature of an Italian restaurant than an authentic local experience. If you're looking for a place where tourists go to feel like they've tasted the real Rome, this will absolutely suit your needs - it just didn't... More

This very hospitable authentic restaurant is a very good place to have a wide verity of pastas and other original Italian dishes. during noon time it is filled with Rome residents coming from their offices to have lunch. it is lively and loud, but in a good way. It may not be the best place for meet or chicken dishes,... More

Typical hostaria with a wide selection of food (both meat and fish) as well as pasta and other cooked food. If you are in the area and do not have other plans it is worth going.

Go here for the pasta and service. We came back 3 times during our 5 day stay in Rome. A bit crowded and rushed downstairs, so ask to be seated upstairs

Staying in Trevi

Neighborhood Profile
Trevi
A non-stop photo and souvenir opportunity, Trevi is all about action. From early morning through the wee hours, the piazza surrounding Trevi Fountain hosts a never-ending flow of tourists hoping to make a wish or take a selfie. Clever restaurants, charming gelaterias, uncanny bars, kitsch shops, and a range of hotels make up the local landscape. Beneath the bustle are the remains of an ancient neighborhood that you can visit by heading over to a repertoire cinema and asking for a peek underground. There is something for everyone, but if peace and quiet are what you seek, plan to visit in the early morning hours.
