Very nice food. Not enough staff to look after the tables. No drink or dessert offer for over 30 mins and staff forgetting you’ve asked for menus and drinks. As soon as they got busy, all customer service ended. It’s a shame because the food...was delicious. I wish I’d had the time to wait for someone to take my dessert order. I live just down the road but I won’t be going back againMore

One of the best meals I had in 5 days of Rome, and, considering the quality, well priced. Would visit again. Service excellent and the whole vibe is Temple of Food style. Shame about the couple who sat down wanting a beer and a Spritz...(at 1pm). NB I’m vegetarian, but excellence for me means excellence for you also. Shame it’s only lunchtime. Would return, and in a city this size with this reputation, that’s saying something!More

I ate here twice in June, both times with friends, once sitting outside, once sitting in. The food was exceptional and the service utterly professional. The menu isn’t huge and it isn’t offering a survey of traditional Roman dishes. But the ingredients and preparation were...imaginative and of outstanding quality. I would happily return on a future visit to Rome.More

Delicious! Artichoke gratin and crispy cod were delicious starters. Gnocchi with mussels and clams, and house made Testaccio fantastic. Great service!

Volpetti is pure class! From the fantastic starters to the delicious desserts! We very much enjoyed the specials of the day, artichokes, peas and beans with pork cheeks and the pasta and fish dish! Service was great and the advice on wines spot on! We...finished with great panna cotta and a super cheesecake with passion fruit and wild strawberries. Highly recommended for a special night out!More

Just south of the tourist centre, in an 'authentic local' suburb of inner Rome. You can walk along the river or get a bus. We had a delicious meal with attentive staff and good value. The menu caters well for carnivores and vegetarians. Yum. Yum.

What a brilliant taverna. You have to try the cheese and meat platter starter. In 7 years of visiting Roma this is without doubt the best we have ever eaten. Super friendly service and everyone working there seemed to be enjoying it. The wine list...is amazing as is the service and the delicious meal we had there. You must visit.More

We ended up here unexpectedly after we couldn’t get into another restaurant that had lost our booking. We had a wonderful meal - the meat and cheese platter was the best we’ve had in Rome and we’ve been 7 times! All the food was lovely...and the service outstanding - friendly and helpful and everyone wore a smile and seemed happy to be there. We would thoroughly recommend this wonderful place!More

We ended up here randomly, as we couldn't get a table where we had originally wanted to go. We didn't have a reservation, so I think we were lucky to be seated here on a busy Sunday lunch service. The restaurant had a busy flow...of people...we knew we'd picked a good one! We shared a bottle of my favourite, Franciacorta, and it wasn't a bad choice! Highly recommend you try it if you haven't before. We then went for a sharing plate of meats and cheeses which had the best mozzarella we've ever eaten! We'd order it again in a heartbeat. Following this, I had the Testaroli (antica pasta della Lunigiana) al pesto, fagiolini e patate, and my husband had the special - Fettuccine con Animelle e Carciofi. We finished with a Tiramisu! Delicious... Would highly recommend and would definitely return.More

Food was good and original but overall experience completely spoiled by the rude owner. We ordered a bottle of wine which was undrinkable because it was fizzy. We shared this with owner who first insisted that the wine was now OK then offered to change...the wine if we really wanted, which we did. In the end they charged the full bottle (+ tried to keep it, I guess to serve it to other guests by the glass - we had to request to take it with us). The owner just rudely said that "You chose, you pay it". Worst service we experienced in while in a restaurant. Because of this alone, I'd recommend you stay very far away. On top while food is good, value for money is not good enough.More

This welcoming classy eatery has the best dessert ever: cheesecake. No, not just cheesecake… a creamy single serving baked perfectly topped with a strawberry glaze and caramelized almond brittle. Go there just for that. And if you insist on a meal as well, there are...no bad choices. I opted for a pasta dish which was fresh and delicious. And last but not least, you can “park your dog” there.More

This was hands down the best meal I had in Rome. Had the Carciofo and the the Wild Boar which was stunning. Had 2 bottles of the Amarone (Saltari) which at 49 Euros is a steal. Highly recommended.

In the heart of the testaccio district, this restaurant is an appendix of the homonymous famous Volpetti delicatessen. Roman cuisine with dishes based on ancient recipes revisited with taste and originality. We started with "Tagliere di salumi" really excellent. Very good also the "fiori di...zucca" with salted cod, peppers and 'nduja. At this point, even if we were quite full we decided to taste lamb scamone with artichokes on the plate, crumble of herbs and cream of pecorino sardo. To end a quite good creme brulee. very good wine list, sought ecclettica and with honest prices.ery good wine list, sought ecclettica and with honest prices. Friendly staff.More

We had high expectations from this place as I'd read really good reviews, but unfortunately the main course food didn't match our expectations. Very limited vegetarian options. Dessert was lovely. Slow service even though the restaurant wasn't so busy the night we were there.
