In an area with many small restaurants we circled around until we found one which we decided looked ‘authentic’, not too touristy, and was likely to offer real taste of Roman food. La Moretta provided us with just what we had hoped for. On the surface a little rough compared to some establishments but offering the genuine article at a... More

Food is moderately good, especially pasta. But service is beyond good manners, never encountered such hostility in Italy or anywhere else..

We were staying at a hotel around the corner and had just arrived looking for lunch. This was the first restaurant we came to. It didn't sing out to me "come in" from its appearance but we were hungry so stepped inside. Staff seemed a little brusque at first but actually they were really nice and service was efficient. We... One of the best pizzas I had in Rome. Such a crisp pizza crust, and the salami was freshly cut. Good service too.

Just happened to stumble on this place on my first day in Rome. The pasta was very good and the portion was generous. The local wine was tasty and overall it was good value for money. I'd return again the next time I'm in Rome.

We've been at La Moretta for lunch today and it was a great experience. We took the vegetable plate for antipasti and it was huge, largely enough for two and, most importantly, really delicious mix of courgettes, aubergines and red pepper. The bread that came with was some pizza base, freshly baked and again it was really good. I then... More

I was here a few years ago for lunch, and thought it was OK. This time we were in the area, and decided to drop in for an early dinner--big mistake. Although we were the only patrons in the restaurant, the service was extremely slow and not at all friendly. The dishes we had, shrimp and pasta, were not very... More

Great place for a good deal on simple Roman food. Pasta and pizza are above average at a good price. Simple decor but easy to find a good place for conversation. Outside dining is nice in good weather.

It was our last night in Rome, and I remember this restaurant I visited a couple of years ago. This is actually the third time at this restaurant. The first time was approx. 5-6 years ago and I really liked their Risotto Scampi (Italian rice with shrimp). It was fragrant almost like a risotto Milanese. The second time was 2... More
