Back in 1983, Giuseppe and friends came up with an idea for their newly acquired restaurant: a fast, healthy meal for customers on the go. Large, tasty salads made with local ingredients replaced the stuffy three-course meal that was the norm. Nearly thirty years later, Giuseppe and friends are still satisfying their customers with 8 restaurants based in as many neighbourhoods in Rome. Great selection of mixed salads, made with fresh ingredients. Other typical Italian (and Roman) favourites, also available, for a good balance price for value. Definitely a good option, with quality that satisfy also local palates, despite not representing the heart of the traditional cuisine and ambience.

Very large selection of salads and vegetarian dishes. They also serve some meat dishes. Average service, clean restaurant, very reasonably priced.
The salads was served with good presentation. The taste and quality were good, and all of the ingredients seemed fresh. The servers seem a bit inexperienced. The decor was classy, and there was soft music in the background.

We had lunch here on our first day in Rome. We chose from the €12 menu which consisted of Brushcetta or salad, pasta, pizza , meat were choices for main, we all had pizza which was very good. Small glass of wine or beer and coffee. Great value for money as all the food was very good. Not the best Pizza you’ll have but it’s still very good and the value for what you get is great value. The waiting staff were all very friendly and patient with us while we decided. It was good enough for us to re-visit on our last night, so not bad all.

They served us right away, there were not many people, and they were very friendly, there were several waiters who spoke Spanish and they served us super quickly, everything was freshly made and of quality, very good. The carbonara and caccio e pepe were incredible. Great for a quick, cheap meal.

The Rich Salad confirms the quality and goodness of the dishes it offers. I had the opportunity to eat a truly delicious salmon and avocado salad despite the simplicity of the dish. The hot focaccia they bring as an accompaniment is also delicious. The salads chosen by my family were also greatly appreciated. Furthermore, at the next table, I noticed that a truly inviting-looking margherita pizza and a mushroom risotto were being consumed. The typical dish, however, is certainly the rich salads. Friendly and quick staff. The only sore point, perhaps, is the excessive proximity between the tables. I have known her for a long time and I will return again with pleasure.

This was actually the worst service and food I’ve ever had. I have traveled broadly and even in less developed countries, the service is better. Save yourself the time, unless you like getting your food for a group of 4 in three shifts about 45 minutes apart. Everywhere else in Italy we haven’t had any problem. Here it was terrible. Our waiter then proceeded to dump the final late plate of our group on the young woman who was eating with us. It ruined her white linen pants and he did nothing. Literally walked away and didn’t get new food, apologize or help clean up. He did bring our bill and then decided he didn’t speak the language enough to do anything but take our money. The worst ever.

Time for Saturday lunch, just before May 1st, in the city center didn't promise anything good. Uncontrollable crowds of people were pouring through the streets, and I really didn't believe we would find a place for two anywhere. In front of the restaurant entrance, I saw a lady who with her appearance inspired me with homeliness and trust. She signaled us to enter and led us to a table near the kitchen. My wife and I decided that our lunch would be dominated by artichokes, as it is currently their season. Alla giudea and alla romana were excellent, so we ordered alla romana again and then pizza margherita with artichokes. In the meantime, we could watch the food preparation and exchange jokes with the chef, waiter, and the lady who could have been the owner. For dessert, as a continuation of the red thread, we ordered Cynar, which caused laughter and a comment that they unfortunately don't have coffee with artichokes. Excellent experience and worth repeating multiple times.

Evidently all the positive reviews are for salads and who knows it will be true .. but if you choose and want a first I recommend you to let it go.
A bad cheese and pepper in Rome I repeat Rome center. It was a first that knew nothing. No taste of cheese and pepper and practically scalded. Evidently the restaurant is based on the number and the central area with the consequent influx of tourists and workers but if we want to talk about care for a dish just forget it. A poor tourist next to our table had taken a pizza that must have been just like my tonnarelli in judgment.

Was looking for a mid afternoon lunch after a long walk, thought we would give this a place a try. The restaurant was empty and we were sitting outside closest to the entrance (empty tables all around us). I still made the mistake of putting my backpack on the back of my chair. With four of us sitting at the same table none of us noticed my backpack getting taken right off my chair. I have suspicions however won't voice them here as I don't have facts. After realizing and talking to the staff they were very puzzled but didn't offer any suggestions or help. I had to point out they had cameras and I would like to see the footage, they then then told us that their "camera's weren't working" however after pushing why they said they needed their "IT" person and that they would have to call/email him/her to review, I explained that I would be back to look at the footage. Upon return 2 days later again they didn't have their IT person. I gave up as they weren't helpful at all in sorting this out, they even used the excuse that "this happens all the time" and "we have to be more careful". I accepted responsibility but their lack of help and concern was extremely disturbing. - From a food perspective, 3 of us had salads and 1 a burger... The salads were ok, the burger was good. We did however have much better food while in Rome and to add it was pretty expensive considering what we got.

When we come to Rome, we always come here to eat. Why, you ask? Because the food, the prices, and the service are consistently good. They have an extensive menu. There is something for everyone here. Their prices are very reasonable. They offer seating inside or out. They are open all day so that they can accommodate everyone. On this trip, we both enjoyed the Ravioli with butter and sage sauce. It is one of our favorites. The sauce is so delicate. We will be back again soon!

Ordered a pizza and salad and very disappointed. Pizza was equivalent to a frozen pizza with very poor crust. Salad was also mediocre and nothing like all the wonderful salads at all the other Rome restaurants.
This place stood out as the worst restaurant we visited over 3 days in Rome.

I have been going there for over twenty years, with my girlfriend, then wife, friends and relatives. It's always good! The waiters are kind, as if the place were theirs and the owner, despite owning various places and being a successful entrepreneur, is always present to welcome and serve you, as only happens in America. Top place for lunch, good for dinner!

this was a great find, and we are so happy we did! the service was absolutely amazing and the food did not ever disappoint. I got the last lasagna and wow it was perfect and I mean perfect! my husband had tortellini 2 times and would have had it more if we had been there longer. they have a meat and cheese tray with hot ham and honey that you will dream of and get again and again. there is a young man server that made sure my mother in law had the best time and made her day every single time we were there.. thank you!

Whatever you do, DO NOT get the pizza. Everything here was fantastic until getting to the pizza, it is as inauthentic as inauthentic gets (comparable to frozen pizza). By far the worst pizza I’ve had in my time in Italy. Not getting a 1 star for the appetizer being good.

a place found by chance during a walk in Trastevere.
As Tuscans away from home, we want to taste the first courses of the Lazio tradition and therefore: cacio&pepe, amatriciana and fettuccine with ragù. The first question was: how much damn do they eat around here????? we can eat a week with that amount of pasta.... And then we didn't ask each other any more questions, we were busy tasting first and eating then, with an interlude of tasting each other's dishes.
We had a good time. The friendliness, especially from the owner, was the added value.
