Lovely meal here. Less touristy, fab food and service at a reasonable price. Gorgeous steaks - looks like a butcher when you first go in the door! Brilliant service, felt very well looked after. Everything fresh and tasty.

Il Ciak is a typical italian restaurant with all the courses your imagination can figure about Italy. Everything is very well cooked and tasty. At the same time the decoration helps a lot build up the environment.

Maurizio came to great me as I read the menu - no strong arm to get me in, just a nice welcome. I wasn't ready to eat but did come back later - was nice to be remembered. The meal was wonderful. The steak (all 1 kilo of it!) filled me at dinner and at lunch the next day (so... More

If you are in Trastevere and looking for steaks II Caik could be just the place for you. While this restaurant is not exclusively servering meat it is very much the dominant feature. The quality of the meat and the size of the cuts was good and if you are a meatlover I trust that you will be inspired. This... More

We walked around Trastevere for 30 minutes looking at the menus of so many - standard tourist fare with ambience the decisive criterion. But this stood out. It's menu was exceptional & though the service could have been better my Tuscan T bone slices with Tuscan beans was superb. Lesley had lamb, and being Welsh knew how it should taste.... More

We had diner there twice (groups of 10 and more) on a business trip. We found this place by chance (one of the few having a table for 14 available).. The food was just fantastic. We tried the different pieces of meat grilled on the wood fire. We also tried a mix of desserts (delicious). The team was very serviable... More

Loved the food, I believe the chef puts all his heart in the cuisine, especially the tiramitsu, it was absolutly fabulous. Service was also very good, especially Andrea who took care of me that evening. He is a very dedicated host and he will make sure you spend a good time in his restaurant. I can't recommend enough, just go... More

We popped in here for dinner after walking past it a couple of times and seeing the joints of beef on display at the front of the restaurant. As for food; Pasta starters were great but the T-Bone was a tad disappointing, a bit bland. I just think we've been spoilt by amazing quality rare breed, grass fed, dry aged... More

Staying in Trastevere

Neighborhood Profile
Trastevere ("beyond the Tiber") is like a faded postcard, a little worn around the edges but still charming. With its wide-open piazzas, meandering streets, weathered Renaissance buildings, and overgrown personality, it's become an irresistible mecca for visitors. Trastevere is an enclave of entertainment - a rotating set of street performers entertains almost every night, and unforgettable eateries and bars pepper its piazzas and side streets. For a trip to the past, visit the southern and western flanks of Trastevere for pockets of yesteryear, less traversed areas with a residual 1960s and 70s Roman vibe.
