Went here the first night we arrived in Napoli- it was quite late but the restaurant was buzzing. Service was really fast and attentive, and pizzas were so delicious. Great wine and limoncello too! Highly recommend for a local pizzeria feel with fab food.

Had an hour lunch here, ordered 3 pizzas - margarita, with salsiccia and with truffles. Pizzas were ideal, nothing to add. The place is not very romantic or has no cost style as some family-run restaurant would have, but frankly I had no time looking...around while being focuses on the plate. Prices reasonable. Location is not great as it is in the narrow old street, but luckily just 50 m nearby there's a parking for 2.50eur which cooperates with this restaurant (you get a stamp in the restaurant to have cheaper price, otherwise it's 3.50). Definitely worth a visit and overall very good food experience.More

I would put ten stars if it were possible. This is simply the best pizzas in the world!!!! This restaurant has a lot of local customers. We were sitting next to a Napolitan family who recommended the Marinara and the Montanara. We took both of...course! They were fantastic. My preferred one was the Marinara, which has a perfect balance of tomatoes, garlic, olive oil. The Montanara has a fried crust which is also quite tasty. We came back the day after and took the Marinara again and the Zucchini Flowers. The only problem with Starita is that you won’t be able to eat regular pizzas after that!More

This pizza lives up to the reputation of one of the best in Naples. I went for the margarita, and though it wasn't my number 1, it did have the overall best crust of the ones we tasted. Smoky, with a perfect crisp, yet soft...and puffy. The pizza was also one of the most cost effective food options anywhere - unbelievable I think it was 4 Euros for a whole pizza.More

This place was advised to us by 2 locals calling it the best pizza restaurant in Napoli. Although it was low season the place was almost full, even at the start of the evening. It is not a place for a romantic evening, but as...a couple you still do have to come here. Quick and friendly service, even thought it was very busy, and amazing pizza's. And also enough vegetarian options to choose from. Put this on your Napoli short list! Hidden gem!More

Located steps from Materdei station in Napoli since 1901 Starita has served everyone from the Pope to Sophia Loren, and although New York’s “Don Antonio by Starita“ makes a good Pizza the use of native Ingredients helps set the original apart. Made famous by the...1954 film L’oro di Napoli, and still owned by Antonio Starita in partnership with son Giuseppe, it was without the usual hour-plus queue that Starita was found on a brisk January evening, Staff beginning to welcome guests at 19h00 with the lengthy space mostly full within thirty minutes. Decorated in stone archways and red tablecloths, old photos plus the iconic fork and ladle hanging on the wall, guests are invited to choose from over sixty Pies offered alongside Fritti and Dolci, the Montanara highly celebrated but on this night omitted in favor of a particularly creamy Rice Ball and Starita’s delicate stuffed-Squash Blossom. Steeped in history, no hyper-hydration or exaggerated cornicione, Starita’s Pizza takes on a more traditional appearance with crisp edge and moist center, a Margherita made with Tomatoes from Mount Vesuvius showcasing sweetness and acidity contrasted by puddles of Cheese and the oven’s char. Utilizing three rooms in addition to the foyer containing Starita’s oven, and filling the first before seating the second, it was with volume high that Pizza number two was tasted, a thick layer of smoked Cheese helping to mellow unctuous Roman Pork with distinctive notes of Pepper and Rosemary.More

I absolutely love pizza so I had a lengthy list of places to try while in Naples. Of the 4 that I managed to fit in, this was BY FAR my favorite. The waiter told me their speciality is the marinara pizza, so obviously I...had to try that one. As you can see in my picture, it is mostly tomatoes and sauce - only a sprinkle of cheese. I would not have expected to like it so much without cheese, but it was just perfect as far as flavor and texture. This was also the only pizza I found without soggy crust. Water, one arancino (rice ball), and the pizza came to the very cheap total of 9.50 euro. I wish I had tried it sooner and would have been back every day,More

It's a pizzeria so I recommend you order one of these. I love the marinara they make there. Most of the pizzas in Italy are vegetarian. There are other things you can always order though in the leavened or even fried dough... More
