Our first night in Naples, we were tired from a day of travel. The restaurant was just around the corner from our apartment. Once we figured out how to enter the restaurant, we were seated. An American couple told us when asked how to order, said that they have a little attitude, but they like it if you give it... More

On a drive from Umbria to Positano we decided we were crazy not to stop in Naples for a quick pizza lunch. In hindsight, we were crazy for trying to stop in Naples to do anything quick! After a stressful drive through streets that seemed to get narrower and narrower, we parked and managed to find our way to the... More

We were recommended this place by a local and it didn't disappoint. True Neapolitan street food - which is all fried of course! Great for a quick bite or lunch. The road it's on is full of street food places so worth a visit for a local experience.

Going to Napoli, the most important thing to do according to locals and travel guides is to eat the famous Pizza Napoletana. Having read different recommendations, we selected to go to Di Matteo given its history and reviews. We were deeply disappointed. Upon arrival it looked like the restaurant was closed (arriving at 3.30 PM). We managed to find an... More

With it being the annual holiday time for many other Pizzaiolos and other hard-working Italians, this place was doing a roaring trade. Tasty dough, folded twice and eaten on the hoof. Delizioso! Also of note is the lovely elderly man with a cart from which he sells his refreshing granita di limone, right next to the queue. Handy or what?

Best pizza I've ever had in my life. Hands down, no doubt. Got the cacciatora and Margherita with pepperoni. We walked back to our hostel from the place and the pizza was cold by the time we got home but OMG IT WAS STILL SO GOOD. Watching them make it at the restaurant was amazing too. Try this place guys.... More

We always make a point to stop here for pizza when we are in Naples! Authentic...5 euros...done! You may be scared walking through the alleys to get here, but it's worth it!

We drove past this place in a taxi and there was a large line up to get in. By the time we checked in to our b&b and got back we were lucky enough to get straight in for a table. The pizza was excellent. All four of us were very happy with our choices. The service wasn't as good/quick... More

Possibly the most confusing ten minutes I have ever spent (and I speak Italian!) but then we tasted our pizzas! The marinara was delicious. The tomato base is wonderful. Very cheap eat too. Will go again.
