We ordered the croquettes which were amazingly cooked! The mash inside was just in perfect harmony with the entire dish!
The Spaghetti Carbonara was sooo good! The sauce in it was just out of this world, specially for a restaurant!
Then as main we also...had ordered Chef Carmén’s famous meatballs! They were 2 huge(almost tennis ball each)! And omg, it just melted in your mouth as you bite them! The sauce was nothing less than perfection, you could taste the herbs used to harmonise it all together along with the tomato sauce, all clearly homemade!
The Spaghetti with tomato and mozzarella etc was amazing! The cheese was melted to perfection!
IMPORTANT: We did make a mistake of having some bites hours before arriving… Do not, I REPEAT, DO NOT! The portion sizes are monstrous and therefore we just couldn’t eat it anymore which was my biggest regret while visiting Italy for 5 days…it felt nothing less than a crime and insulting to anyone that still hasn’t had the chance to try this restaurants food!
Service wise, we had arrived while the restaurant was busy (seems like always), but we only had to wait a little bit before being sat down, then straightaway got the usual offers when sat down (bread, water and etc). The menu is humble in size, yet, felt very “real and homemade” with the options on it (mind I remind that we also had a “Special of the day” menu).
The food was served very quick in consideration to how busy the restaurant was as well!
The vibe of the restaurant is as expected from other reviews; homie and with a great sense of hospitality! With past customer’s writings on every wall as a way to show appreciation for the food and service :)
Also as we were enjoying our dinner and the atmosphere, we ended up being the very last people to leave the restaurant and had a chance to thank chef Carmén and all the staff for the marvellous food and service! Very friendly!
So to sum it up, if you’re within the area of Amalfi Bay, Naples etc… do make arrangements to check out this amazing restaurant, its worth the detours even if it takes 1-2hrs to get there as within the last 5 days it was the best restaurant we experienced in Italy, even after staying and eating at Rome Cavalieri Waldorf Astoria and some of the hidden gems in Rome.
Will definitely visit again given the chance to be in the South of Italy!More
