Sorrento is awash with restaurants flattering to deceive. The ones with the flashy dish of the days that turn out to be gastro hiccups as oppose to flashes of culinary brilliance. We were fooled by one not so far from this gem. What gave it way was this was the only restaurant filling quickly without a front of house harassing... More

Visited for lunch on our first day in Sorrento; food and service were both very good. Excellent presentation and delicious pasta and main course dishes. Would happily go back.

We very much enjoyed our meal on this corner restaurant - a great place to watch the world go by. Lovely food and felt like reasonable value.

We had dinner here last week and I must say the pizza was the best I had in Sorrento. My husband had the spaghetti bolognaise which was ok but portion was quite small. Their deserts were not good. I would definitely go for the pizza but nothing else.

My husband and I visited Il Pozzo on our first evening in Sorrento. We spent a while getting our heads around the many, many restaurants in the area and finally selected this one. My husband had a calzone (which he enjoyed but it was a little oily) and I had a pizza which was tasty but nothing special. The service... More

Nothing special me and my wife both ordered a pasta dish it was bland and looked like it had just be throw on the plate.I also had muscles which came just in left over water. There was no atmosphere and waiter did not seem to care.

We ate here a couple of times and both times it was lovely . Very clean and the staff are very nice. We tried the pizza and a few different pastas between us and they were all good. Reasonably priced as well.

Soggy pizza! Unseasoned frittura. Lacklustre performance from well located restaurant that has given up trying to delight. Avoid. Complacency due to abundant passing trade - methinks!

We ate here on our first evening and enjoyed it so much we went back twice. The service is very good, the restaurant is clean and the food is excellent. I had pasta arriabatta and gnocchi alla sorrentina (twice!). My family had pizza and pasta and we enjoyed every meal. Definitely the best of the restaurants we tried

My wife and I visited Sorrento in May and we had several meals at an excellent restaurant named Il Pozzo (The Well). We tried many of their pastas, risottos and pizzas and they were all wonderful. I had pasta with seafood more than once and it was excellent. I also had their risotto with mushrooms and it was delicious.Their house red wine is very good. It is fruity, easy to drink and very moderately priced. And for white wine, we chose Falanghina from the wine list. Falanghina is a local white wine that is fruity with a subtle crispness. Finally, I need to say a few words about the staff. They were always very helpful and made me feel completely comfortable. They were wonderful guys.Il Pozzo is located on via Tasso, down from the cathedral, at the intersection with via dell'Accademia.
