Can't fault the food but that takes a back seat compared to the rudest waiter we have ever come across. We sat down and were bought the menus which were just thrown on the table without a word and he walked away. When my wife's Pasta came she asked for some Parmesan and we never saw him again and on... Lunch here was dreadful. Not only were the staff annoyed that we wanted to sit inside (very windy and cold day), but I had to ask twice for a glass of Pinot - waiter disappeared first but only returned to talk to someone whom I can only presume to be a local. Garlic bread was completely charred and inedible (hard... More

We ate here a couple of times. Food was very reasonably priced for sorrento. It was also very tasty. We enjoyed a pizza and a bruschette with tomatoes. We would recomend. We also enjoyed a local wine which was lovely

Went for dinner. The minestrone soup my husband has was the most watery and insipid looking bowl of soup ever. The pizzas we had afterwards did however go,some way in redeeming the meal. Service was ok but not ove the top. Would we go back? Probably not as there are much nicer places to eat in Sorrento.

We called in for a late lunch and had a pizza and a dessert, both of which were pleasant enough. The service was efficient without being particularly friendly and whilst we were not at all dissatisfied, we did not feel inclined to go back there again throughout our stay.

Great seafood Insalata del Golfo and nicely presented. Heavy on the seafood and light on the greenery, a pleasant surprise after some similar meals in the region. My wife had baked aubergine and parmesan Parmigiana di Melanzane. Very nice. Half a litre of local white wine was good value. There was a cover charge but the bread was crusty and... More

Service was a disgrace, not interested at all! The food - well I guess you could say avoid at all cost, the garlic bread was like a stone picked up off the floor, rock hard & the pasta I am sure a 7 year old could have cooked better. We also had to ask for the bill 3 times. Worst... More

I guess like all popular resorts the restaurant relies on transient trade. Pleasant staff and nice location. The food is bland however. The pasta was cooked very well but everything around it was average. My partner tried one of the wood burned pizzas. Again very average. The translation of ingredients also needs work too as not what we ordered but... More

Great service, very good food and local wine, and according to my wife the best panna cotta ever (not to my taste though)!

I read a recommendation for this restaurant and wanted to try it. My food was just ok but I was served a plate of freezing cold roasted vegetables, yuck! My husband had a chicken dish that was burned. Would not recommend it.

Thank Angela C

My wife and I visited Sorrento in May and we had several meals at an excellent restaurant named Il Pozzo (The Well). We tried many of their pastas, risottos and pizzas and they were all wonderful. I had pasta with seafood more than once and it was excellent. I also had their risotto with mushrooms and it was delicious.Their house red wine is very good. It is fruity, easy to drink and very moderately priced. And for white wine, we chose Falanghina from the wine list. Falanghina is a local white wine that is fruity with a subtle crispness. Finally, I need to say a few words about the staff. They were always very helpful and made me feel completely comfortable. They were wonderful guys.Il Pozzo is located on via Tasso, down from the cathedral, at the intersection with via dell'Accademia.
