Great hidden jewel just off the waterfront promenade in Salerno. The Sfusato Amalifitano Lemon Perfumed Tagliatelle with Seaweed, Mussels and Clams was the best pasta dish I've had in Italy! The Purple Potato Gnocchi with Porcini Mushrooms and seasoned Bagnolese Ricotta cheese was ordered by my wife and daughter and they absolutely loved it! Highly, highly recommend this great restaurant.... More

After discovering that the restaurant we were looking for had closed up we happened upon TAverna Santa Maria. The staff spoke little to no English but that was not a problem as they have an English menu. The staff were pleasant and very helpful. A flute of sparkling wine was service along with a seafood muse. We order the three... More

Was looking for a bite to eat after some relaxing site seeing in Salerno. Stopped in here after reviewing trip advisor and all was very good. They started me off with some sparking wine and dinner was tasty, I usually stick to the basics, but thought I would try the brown rice and shrimp and I liked it. Very good... More

Worm and comfortable location, with a sense of rustic, as the positioning in the city center recommend. Calm and relaxed environment, specially suggested for a romantic or a business dinner. The menu is accurate and well thought. The quality of food is supreme (ok, you are in the south part of Italy).

Every time I come to Salerno I make sure I eat at this incredible restaurant, and leaving there tonight I kept thinking what an absolute treasure it is! The ambience is divine in this converted 7th century chapel, from the vaulted ceilings to the decor to the welcome that owners Anna and Nello make you feel. On return visits they... More

Firstly, the venue itself is incredible - old and authentic! People stopped just to take photos. Then the food ... mouth wateringly delicious! A wide selection with a modern twist on some traditional recipes. Well paired wines and a great service. Not budget prices but as would be expected for the quality of the food (not overly expensive).

An excellent rapport quality price . I strongly recommend the riso Venere fish dish and also extremely good value the menu degustazione . Anna the owner, pays a lot of attention to detail . I've been coming to the Taverna for some time when I come to sing in the area and have always ate splendidly . A real gem... More
