My wife had a delicious chicken with lemon sauce. Lemon groves permeate the area. I had escalloped meat with tasty pizzaiola sauce Owner arrived late on moped to open the restaurant but made up for it with smile and courteous service

We called into this place on our way down to Amalfi and we should have kept walking. I ordered a steak with fries it was eventually served about 30 mins later and it was obviously taken out of a freezer and slapped into a frying pan. It was about 6mm thick and even then it was just not cooked properly.... More

The restaurant is very low key, small and kind of typical Italian. The food and service is very good. It was convenient to us as were staying in a villa just up the street. For Amalfi, it was very reasonable priced and the food was very good. The pasta is home made. We will definitely go back there next time... More

Decided to have dinner here after walking by rather than in our 5 star hotel. It's a simple small family operated restaurant. I believe it's 3rd generation family. Nice meal. Enjoyable interaction with owner and son. Most enjoyable. Felt. Like we were in Italy not just another big hotel restaurant. Highly recommend for an Italian experience.

We visited this restaurant as it was conveniently located close to our hotel. The food and service was very good. I can recommend their grilled fish. They could improve the atmosphere a bit f.ex. by getting rid of the TV and moving the stereo set away from the dining area. But overall a very pleasant meal.

Nice, good value Italian food. Low key, friendly owners. Hard to rate as "average" has tinges of disappointment. We weren't, it is just run-of-the-mill place. Upside is that it wasn't busy. Hard to get to unless you are staying nearby though.

We've stayed in Amalfi, Rome, Florence, Venice, and Milan and have NEVER experienced such flavorful, homemade Italian food. The restaurant is family owned and run featuring food from their garden. Upon arrival we were warmly greeted by the owner, Nicola, with a priceless smile, Italian music, and a relaxing ambiance. The love from the restaurant radiated throughout the food and... More

The food was good, but it lacks atmosphere and did not have many customers when we were there. No pizzas, but a good range of sea food and pasta on the menu.

I have been to Amalfi 4 times and I have eaten at La Preferita numerous times. They are simply the best! The owner Nicola and his wonderful family make all of their guests feel special! The food is fantastic. You can NOT get better fish or gnocci anywhere. Don't miss this place!
