La Galea restaurant is in the center of Amalfi, a few meters from the beautiful Piazza Duomo and his famous Cathedral. The restaurnt offers spacious rooms, with air conditioning, and an high quality italian cuisine. La Galea is a fixed destination of many tourists who choose every year the Amalfi Coast for their holidays.Dishes based on fish but also meat on the menu at this restaurant without losing sight of the tradition of local cuisine and local products. In addition you can enjoy a great neapolitan pizza.
After having 4 really nice meals in lovely, more pricey restaurants over the amalfi Coast, we thought it would be good to try a cheaper eatery. After looking at reviews online, La Galea seemed like a great option. Oh how wrong we were. The service...was great (The reason I gave 2* instead of 1), probably because the place was empty though, but the food was poor and lacked enthusiasm. My girlfriend went for a ravioli which was extremely oily and I went for the cannelloni which to me seemed like a microwave meal compared to the food other restaurants served. Long story short, just go elsewhere and pay a little bit more money for a lot higher standards.More
Lovely little restaurant in amalfi we had the set menu for €19.50 each. I had gnocchi which was superb and my fiancée had cannelloni also superb. We then had calamari prawns and chips which was wonderful. Staff were friendly and spoke English. Perfect lunch stop...on our tour of the amalfi coast.More
Cute place we stopped in for lunch. It was early in the day and the lunch crowd hadn't really started just yet. We were welcomed into their empty restaurant and fussed over beyond belief. They were so very nice. The restaurant is small but immaculately...clean. The service was great and the food was delicious. By the time we left, they were packed with customers. They deserve the patronage!!More
Found this restaurants by chance on our day trip to analogue & Pakistani. What a lucky find have to say best meal we have had since we arrived in Italy. Just wish it was nearer to sorrento as we'd definitely return. The food was absolutely...delicious. The staff were very friendly & welcoming & we also enjoyed a couple of local musicians who popped in to play. Really excellent can't say much more but you must go thereMore
The lunch we ate in this restaurant was the best food we ate during our trip to Italy. We shared bruschetta and the fried Italian bites for a starter. The tomatoes and basil on the brushchetta were so fresh and delicious and the little arancini...balls were extremely tasty. I had the tortellini stuffed with shrimp, served with clams for my main course, it was heavenly! My husband had a pizza, which he said was very yummy!
The staff were extremely friendly.
We could not fault his restaurant, we'd strongly recommend you visit here.More
I have just returned from Amalfi and ate at this restaurant several times. On my first visit I was made to feel very welcome so I returned again. The two waiters who work there were so nice and friendly as well as being very efficient.... During my visits I observed them at work and they maintained the same high standards with diners of different ages and nationalities no matter how busy they were..
I was not too adventurous with my choice of meals but what I had I enjoyed very much. The menu has a good choice of meals so there should be something to suit most people.
I had intended to go there on my last night but it did not work out so I could not say thank you and goodbye to the waiters so I will do that now .I was the single English guy with the backpack! Anyway, thanks guys for making me welcome - I appreciated your friendliness !More
