What a pleasant surprise. We stumbled onto this place after touring the paper mill museum (that's another 5-star experience). We ate octopus in a spicy red sauce (OMG!), whole grilled fish (eyeballs and all), and a beautiful, crisp, thin-crust pizza. This was not tourist food. I went back to the kitchen to thank them "delicioso!"

Il Mulino is off the beaten path, up the main street near the Paper Museum. It is a neighborhood restaurant that welcomes outsiders, and rewards them with very good food at a very reasonable price. My wife and I both had pizza for lunch (not sure if it is available at dinner), and our pies were perfectly cooked with fresh... More

Local seafood cooked in an excellent broth was great. A litre of very nice house red was 10 euro - my kinda place!

A most delightful family-run establishment away from the frenetic central restaurant area. Excellent value home cooking and good wine - a real Italian eating experience.

Cooked to order & we are so happy to wait a little longer for our food , so fresh , the steaming hot pasta is always al dente.& not a rich tomato taste , (always with fresh tomatoes), we have loved the shialettili pasta, Paccheri with mushrooms , Paccheri with tuna olives & capers & always the pasta is cooked... This lovely little restaurant is found a short walk out of Amalfi. To find it, walk up the main street, past all the shops and traffic lights. Go under the bridge and it is near the Paper Museum. It is a typical Italian pizzeria - not at all spoilt. The owners are lovely and very welcoming and the food is... More

A small walk up the Main Street, past all of the shops and the paper museum you arrive at the restaurant. As people have previously said - very genuinely lovely food, great service but not touristy. Very reasonable and would recommend - Pizza great, sausage pasta s d aubergine pasta all with the house wine. Just visit and enjoy!

We found this delicious restaurant by chance because we were to the way to the paper museum. It is a secret tip - delicious Italian food and not expensive. I can strongly recommend it and it is much better than the tourist traps down town...the little walk is it absolutely worth it! Go for it! I wish the owner and... More

Takes only 5 min walk from the seafront and you arrive to nice quiet area away from noise and from the extreme amount of tourist. Food is amazing staff is friendly and dont need to wait hours to get your fresh homemade food.

This has been the best experience in Italy thus far. This restaurant is away from all the tourist action, only a 5 minute walk up the road and absolutely worth it! The service was great and the food was delicious. It tasted like a home-cooked meal. The prices are fair as well. Encourage others to check this spot out :)
