This is a beautiful little restaurant serving traditional local food at a good price. Extensive wine list. Service was impeccable an in fluent english. The table had the sliced steak, pasta, and local sausage on favas pure ($13). All the dinners were terrific. I can...easily recommend this one.More

Had a fabulous meal here, sitting outside during the lovely warm evening. Vvery busy, and had to book.

What a beautiful setting. Had a great night here. Nice meal, shared a chilli cheese pasta then we had the sirloin and the cod, both delicious. I would only consider an outside table however, you can't beat the views.

Overall a pleasant meal. A bit heavy on the sauce, frankly. The filet with cherry and wine sauce was swimming in the sauce, as was my son’s pasta. The flavors were wonderful for both, but just not my style to have that much sauce. Wine...list is great. Good choices, and reasonably priced. We sat outside, and if you look up from where we were sitting, you see the sassi lighting up above you all around, as the sky goes dark. I would recommend reserving, especially if more than two persons.More

Ate here twice while staying in the Sassi. Both times the service was attentive and kind to non-Italian speakers. Both times our meals were very good and if we return to Matera we would eat here again.

A simple but tasty spot in old-town Matera. They have ample outdoor seating, which is lovely. Basic, local dishes. Good local wine. What's not to like?

While travelling with my family at four we popped in to make a reservation made afternoon and were welcomed by I think the head cook who was absolutely lovely . We came back at the agreed time(Worked out better than I thought it was going...to do to the language barriers) and had the local cheeses, delicious cuts of meat and a house recommended bottle of red wine to round out a fantastic dinner experience. Highly recommended and would go back againMore

We were stayng in a hotel close to da Nico and they recommended it for lunch. There is a small outdoor terrace. The food was amazing. We took the sampler so we could try several small dishes. It was more than enough for two people.

I went based on trip adviser reviews and was disappointed with the meal. My meal was good, however two dishes that my family had were rather bland, which should never be the case in Italian cooking. For the prices I expected better

We were a family of eight and we had dinner in this restaurant. It is in the main area of Matera and walking distance from hotels in the area as long as you can climb stairs. The food was very home cooked and presented with...love. We had the appetizer specials of the house which were all delicious and original. We felt it was good value for the money. Staff very nice.More
