We'd hoped to eat out during my one night's visit with friends but on arrival at this pub we were told the restaurant was full! Thankfully, after being charged London prices of almost £18 for three drinks we were glad it was full.....a fillet steak would have cost us £23! Why such extortionate prices in an out of the way... WE HAD EXPECTATIONS THAT THE Duck would be as good as the Stag and the Moorings. It was good but not up to the standard of these competitors. The food was great. The refurb looks fabulous. Place let itself down on a few points which can be easily rectified. Service and staff knowledge could be bettered. We ordered bread and olives... More

Dropped by for a spot of lunch after being taken over by new management and a refit. We were warmly welcomed in given a choice to eat in 3 locations restaurant, bar/lounge or garden. We chose the restaurant which is large and spaciously laid out. The decor is traditional contemporary style and nicely done. We sat at a round table... More

Firstly The restaurant/gastro venue itself is in a really nice little village with a real old world feel. The gardens which are also available to dine in are well thought out from a landscaping perspective, are lavished with a lovely collection of hanging baskets, a beautifully manicured lawn and expensive well built garden furniture. Nice high decking greets guests with... More

I stopped off for food and I'm glad I did as it was delicious. I had fish and chips and the batter was crisp and light with fish perfectly cooked. The chips are a winner too! All washed down with a quality pint of Estrella. It seems I times it well as the pub has just had a complete refurb... More

Our son had a sponge pudding and berries...the sponge was light and presented beautifully.....amazing food aside the beer garden is another level and a duck... More

Friendly staff, good atmosphere helped by a very good refit and excellent food. Starters and deserts could be a little bigger but I am being picky. Main courses were big enough and the cod fillet was fantastic. Looking forward to when they start doing a few more specials and my next visit. I also like popping over for a pint... More
