I went here on a whim with my girlfriend and was astounded by how amazing the food was. I would highly recommend the salmon and calamari Thai parcels and the Raveolli in curry sauce. It’s in a cute location in El Carmen with tables outside....I found online that the head chef was trained by Gordon Ramsey and after my meal I find that totally believable. Couldn’t recommend more. In these horribly different times, I am so concerned about La Comisaria. This tiny restaurant produced a truly amazing meal - brilliant Venesuelan chef and his family. If they are doing take away meals, support them - you wont regret it! We long to go...back there - to one of four outside tables (I dont think there were more than that inside), with the chefing and plateting beamed onto the wall across the street - only one car's width! All so friendly - staff and customers, inside and out and through the window! And that food! Small menu but we wanted to order everything - advised not to as we could order more if needed. Please, please help to keep La Comisaria going in any way you can.More
We were recommended this small restaurant by the owner of the apartment we were staying in & it was right across the road so very handy. We had booked for 8.30pm which in Spain is still early and it was clear they weren’t quite ready...to receive guests so we agreed to come back at 9pm. Service was a bit slow and seemed a bit disorganised which was slightly off putting however despite this the food was excellent. Each dish was well presented and tasted delicious. It was fun to watch the chef plating up.For the quality of food it is reasonably priced. It is obvious the chef knows how to cook but maybe a bit of work is needed front of house. We enjoyed our meal very much and would return.More
My experience didn’t even start as the person who attended initially was extremely unfriendly and arrogant. What you expect is to be welcomed not told off.
I can’t recommend this restaurant enough. We had a delightful meal with a range of imaginative tapas dishes. It’s a charming small family run restaurant and the prices were incredibly low. A perfect night.
One of our favourite places in Valencia. A small family run restaurant, Tapas with a twist e.g. black pudding balls, amazing! We had a seat by the open kitchen but if you sit outside, they live stream the chef cooking. The food was amazing and...the chef talking through each of the dishes with us was a nice touch. With a town with many tapas restaurants to choose from, master chef Rayber combines the traditional Spanish tapas with fusion flavors from Asia and other exotic places to bring unique flavors and textures. I've visited Valencia two years...in a row and this is definitely in my list of favorite restaurants!More
We called in without booking as many restaurants were closed soon after Easter, and were shown to a table by a friendly host with a great view of the kitchen. Everything was clearly explained, a few of our questions were answered, and we ordered 3...dishes from the very creative tapas menu. Dishes are prepared by the chef in an "open" kitchen. It was good to watch him prepare the food without any pretensions, but with great skill. It was clear that they had focused on simple dishes which looked and tasted great. They had also kept the whole operation small and intimate so that quality could be maintained, and it all worked very well. There was nice atmosphere, with the chef and host chatting to friends on the table next to us, but not allowing this to detract from the quality or service. Mushroom Profiteroles were the unexpected highlight! Secreto de Iberico also very good, and excellent wine and coffee. Very good value also. Highly recommended.More
Very delicious tapas far above the usual stuff for tourists. Quick and friendly service . You can watch the chef meticulously preparing the plates . We went twice there during our 4 day stay in Valencia and diner at La Comisaria was our best experience....We highly appreciated all tapas , but the grilled asparagus are definetely a must. For the quality you get here the bill is very moderate.More
Great range of tapas cooked before your eyes in the tine kitchen which can be seen from the ground floor seats. Irerico pork was magical, meatballs in curry sauce fantastic, gyozas were some of the best. Good prices too.
Great place with very friendly staff and surprising, delicious tapas and plates to share. Would highly recommend it!
What a quirky little place a real find. Lovely food with different flavours and tastes all beautifully prepared. Great friendly and helpful waitress who took us through the menu. Lovely wine and novel idea to watch your food bring prepared. Definitely will return

You know you are in for a treat when the chef invites you to watch him work.We have eaten here numerous times and find that Chef Ray continues to create one memorable dish after another. He introduces interesting flavor profiles and produces some dishes with...a spice you can't find in most Valencian restaurants. La Comisaria is a great example of the current Valencian dining scene. A talented chef, mixing Spanish tradition with new directions, artistic presentation with every dish, an atmosphere that combines traditional architecture and modern sensibilities and a wonderfully friendly staff.More
