A small, romantic, clean, simple, cozy gem out of Valencia city center. Not far away, but not downtown.
You are greeted by the smile of the young daughter of the owner and a soft, gentle jazz music.
It’s a family from Córdoba who runs the restaurant. Somos una familia de Córdoba, you’ll hear this many times.
The menu changes daily, according to the ingredients they find in the local market.
You have to choose one starter, one main and one dessert, for a price of 35€.
Very fair for the quality of what you get.
I chose the salmorejo, one of the best I had in many years travelling all over Spain.
If you do not know what it is, do not google it, give it a try. We used to do so when we did not have internet, and it was very nice.
I then had grilled lamb chops, tender and juicy and tarta de queso as dessert.
It translates into cheese cake, but is is something better, again, give it a try.
A chupito, a glass of herb liquor on the house was the closure of a wonderful dinner experience.
Not only for the food itself, but also for the attention and kindness of the service.
Do bring your mate and she’ll love it.

Word can’t describe how wonderful this restaurant is, the ambiance the service the wine and of course the wine. It all adds up to an amazing evening of fine dining. Our bill was just over 100€ for a three course meal with a bottle of wine and water fore two people, which we felt was great value, we wouldn’t hesitate to dine again here and would certainly recommend people try this gem of a place. I would say booking is essential which you can do by telephone but they only taking bookings 2 weeks in advance so make sure you set a reminder to give them a call

I have been to various cities in Spain and I’m usually underwhelmed by the food. This restaurant has completely changed my view on the quality of food in this country. The Oxtail Stew is literally life changing, Ox Tail may not be anyone’s first choice but I cannot stress how amazing this dish is at this place , the Leeks appetizer is also very delicious. The Restaurant is very small and intimate and you will definitely need a reservation; but it’s absolutely worth it. The place is family run, the owner’s wife is the Chef and their daughter is the waitress, so you will certainly feel welcome here. Stay away from tourist traps serving crappy food and pay this place a visit.

On the spur of the moment, we called the restaurant about midday asking for a table for our family of four. We knew the restaurant was small with very few tables so were prepared for disappointment. The unanswered the phone to call reservation so we hopped in a cab and headed over. So glad we did. The place is tucked away in a neighborhood and you’d probably miss it if you weren’t looking for it. In fact, our taxi driver had no idea about this place. As we walked in we were promptly greeted and immediately noticed the restaurant was very small but elegantly appointed. As it was the midday meal, we had the fixed price three-course meal, but there were options aplenty. All four of us had the salmorejo, which was delicately and expertly executed. For the mains, two of us had the Churrasco of Iberico pork which was an ample portion and perfectly grilled. My wife had the lamb chops which were outstanding as well. Desserts were also a hit. Overall, I have to give this place a top rating for atmosphere, flavor and execution. I really appreciated the family friendly Way of the owner and our servers. Cannot recommend this place highly enough. We will be back.

Beautiful, small restaurant run by a family of truly exceptional people. The menu depends on the produce available to the chef on the day and is really an amazing value for money.
The chef makes it a great and very personal experience. The quality of food served is outstanding and combinations you might think won't work are matches made in heaven. It was the best meal we had while in Valencia and we will definitely be back.

What a fantastic meal! When we visited, Corona virus restriction were still in place. This meant limited capacity inside and a 10 pm curfew, so the full a la carte menu wasn’t available. Instead we were offered. 3 course, prefix menu for 39€. There was still lots of choice on this menu. We made our selections and told the waitress (who is the daughter of mum and dad chef team) that we’d be sharing the dishes we’d decided on, because of this they brought out each dish individually with serving spoons and side plates! Each dish was very unique and delicious. This restaurant is tiny and beautiful. It only has 5 tables inside! If you do book, keep this fact in mind if you can’t keep your reservation. If we find ourselves in Valencia again we’d love to visit again. Thanks for a fabulous dining experience.

We first came to Nou Chocomeli 9 months ago and had a magnificent lunch. We decided to come again to lend support to an excellent small family restaurant in these difficult times and were not disappointed in any way.
From a health perspective, all guidelines were followed and the restaurant, as the only people working are all from the same family I had no doubts that everything was being done properly.
Now the important bit...the food. WOW!!!! We couldn't fault the food in any way. The quality of the produce is 5 star but its the way it is served - imaginative dishes and quite different to the usual dishes found here in Valencia.
Service was fantastic too; attentive without being obtrusive.
Would I return? Absolutely!!

Intimate small family run restaurant serving deliciously fresh food from the market that day.
The menu was read out to us from our waiter and everything sounded so creative, unique and tasty. Turns out it was !!!
You can tell they really care about your meal and the love for cooking showed. Would recommend:)

We have been to Spain several times. So far, the best place we've ever had to eat. Small family restaurant. The owner Pedro and his wife are cooking, their daughter Magda is serving the dishes. Everything is prepared with the freshest ingredients according to traditional recipes. Clients are treated like dear guests. The food is very delicious. Prices are surprisingly moderate.

The best butique restaurant ever! We enjoyed very nice service and the soufflé was unforgettable. You pay fixed price and you have to choose one starter, one main dish and one dessert. Beverages are not included.

VERY nice place to visit.
Cosy restaurant with only 5 tables.
VERY friendly people and amazing food!
Bit outside the center but on walking distance.
I highly recommend this restaurant.
3 course menu where you can choose between 6 starters, 6 main dishes and 6 desserts.
All high quality and fresh prepared dishes.
You can share the dishes if you want so can taste several dishes.
For sure we will visit this restaurant again if we come back to Valencia.

This is more than a family affair. The family has been in the retaurant business for more than 40 years and it certainly reflects in their interest to pleasing their customers to the utmost detail. From the time you enter the place, you notice it is a small operations with a more personal approach to food preparation and customer service. This is not a typical restaurant chain kind of experience, it is more of, as one of the reviewers had placed it, an up and coming Michelin classed establishment. The have a limited amount of the choices but for the the few that they have, they were all good and tasty choices. I had the beef entrecote and my wife had the croaker fish. Both delicately prepared and perfectly prepared. For the price of 48 Euros per head, the preparation, service, presentation and ambiance could definitely rival any 5 star US fine dinign restaurant. Look no further for a place to experience exquisitely prepared spanish cuisine; But reserve earlier, because of the limited space.

We had a late flight booked out of Valencia airport and rather than eat in the airport we decided to get to Valencia earlier and have lunch here before our journey. After reading the reviews we had high expectations! We were not disappointed, and we had a fantastic start to our holidays. Everything about this restaurant is superb. The food…..flavours, aromas, presentation and quality could not be better. The restaurant itself is elegant, intimate and tastefully decorated. The owner and chef (Pedro) and his daughter (Magdalena) were the most welcoming and charming hosts. Thank you for a memorable experience.

We had a great evening at Nou Chocomeli Restaurant! The ambience was very inviting and pleasant. The staff was friendly and attentive and we were given very personal advice. The wine was recommended to us individually with the dish and any questions about the dishes were answered. The dishes were beautifully arranged and were a highlight in terms of taste. Overall, the restaurant had a great atmosphere. We would come again at any time!

We were visiting Valencia so on Monday 9th I called to make a reservation for that night. We were lucky to get in as it is a small and intimate restaurant. on arrival we were shown to our seat and looked after by 2 sisters that looked after the front of restaurant. They could not have been more attentive so we immediately felt at home.
Once we had selected our food we were asked for help to choose the wine and given a choice to taste. The food arrived and we certainly were not disappointed, it was delightful. I could go on but I think you get the message. I only wish we were in Valencia a bit longer so we could go again so until next time we visit.
